About the Role:

 Gartner is seeking a technically adept and highly motivated Senior Test Engineer with keen attention to detail. This role will focus on the design of the test cases and testing Integrations. The ideal candidate should understand various integration patterns: pub/sub; AWS API Gateway; REST API’s messaging. Experience with Publisher/Subscriber event-based integrations, AWS Glue, AWS EventBridge, Lambda functions is required. ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) Certification is a plus.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform duties as an individual contributor and/or team member with 100% hands-on work
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable front-end and back-end code, ensuring the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications. 
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems. 
  • Lead the development of maintenance and enhancement work items in automation testing.
  • Proficient in writing Test Scenarios and Test Cases. Knowledge about Test Strategy and Test Plan
  • Mentor and guide QA team members in developing automation skills and proactively assigning automation tasks to enhance team capabilities.

What You Will Need:

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and accountability. 
  • A desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies. 
  • Working experience with onsite/offshore model is preferred
  • Understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Experience with Google Docs, Jira and Confluence is a big plus
  • Proficient in writing Test Scenarios and Test Cases. Knowledge about Test Strategy and Test Plan
  • Analyze Functional requirements and design documents, review bug descriptions, incorporating this information into test plans and test cases.
  • Test execution, defect (bug) tracking, reporting, and issue resolution/coordination
  • Conducts and/or participates in formal and informal test cases reviews
  • Develop and execute test automation scripts
  • Develop and execute functional tests, performance tests, stress tests, and regression tests
  • Maintain test documentation and test cases.
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and documenting testing methodologies
  • Analyze data and results of tests, record, and re-test defects, provide status
  • Analyze logs using Amazon Web Services
  • Experience in automating web applications across multiple devices and platforms using test automation tools & frameworks, such as Selenium, Appium, TestNG, Cucumber and JUnit/NUnit etc.
  • Knowledge on Tools required for Amazon Web Services, Swagger or Postman

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science or Engineering preferred
  • Test Engineer must work well with developers and BA in an agile development environment
  • ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) Certification is a plus
  • Understand various integration patterns: pub/sub; AWS API Gateway; REST API’s messaging
  • Experience with Publisher/Subscriber event-based integrations, AWS Glue, AWS EventBridge, Lambda functions is preferred
  • Candidate should have experience with API Testing, Automation Testing (Selenium Web driver), REST Assured and Performance/load testing (JMETER)
  • Candidate should have strong analytical abilities, excellent teamwork, and great communication skills
  • Strong understanding of basic concepts of testing principles, all types of Black Box testing
  • 4-7 years hands-on experience testing different applications for both manual and automated tests
  • Knowledge of Test management tools X-Ray, All-In-One within JIRA (Project Management Tool)
  • Expertise working in Integration, Performance, database, Regression, End-To End and API testing
  • Record, report, and verify software defects to accurately depict the software requirements, providing defect metrics and trend analysis to project teams
  • Brainstorming and suggesting process improvement ideas to the team
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present technical information in a clear and concise manner to IT Leaders and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with a team across geographies.  
  • Strong Knowledge of agile methodologies and practices 
  • Strong Knowledge of Automation Tools like Playwright and Selenium for Web, Appium for Mobile Testing, Rest Assured and Playwright for API testing, Percy or Playwright for Visual testing. 
  • Advanced Proficiency in SQL. 
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to assist with operational support of Business-Critical apps. 
  • Experience with AWS, DevOps and CI/CD practices.
