About The Role
We’re seeking a proactive and detail-driven Senior Financial Accountant to bring clarity and control to financial operations. In this role, you’ll lead financial reporting, oversee payroll and accounts payable, ensure tax and audit compliance, and mentor emerging accounting talent. - Prepare and interpret monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Deliver clear financial insights to stakeholders and collaborate on strategic initiatives.
- Conduct analysis to identify trends, variances, and growth opportunities.
General Ledger & Accounting Oversight
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all transactions.
- Conduct account reconciliations and oversee journal entries.
Payroll Management
- Process payroll—including salaries, bonuses, commissions, and deductions—with precision and timeliness.
- Ensure strict compliance with tax and payroll regulations.
- Provide responsive and clear support to employees on payroll matters.
Accounts Payable
- Oversee vendor invoices and ensure prompt, policy-compliant payments.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve issues quickly and fairly.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor variances and provide accountable explanations that inform decisions.
Audit & Compliance
- Act as a liaison for external audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and available.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to protect financial assets and operations.
Tax Compliance
- Ensure timely and compliant filing of BAS, IAS, and payroll tax returns.
- Support tax planning efforts related to compensation and benefits.
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor junior accounting staff, fostering their growth and precision.
- Promote Buddle’s values of support, engagement, and excellence every day.
Other Responsibilities
- Make necessary process suggestions and improvements which can help the team.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform other related tasks and duties that may be assigned by the client later on.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA (or equivalent) is preferred.
- Experience working for an Australian based client.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial accounting.
- Proficient in general ledger management, payroll, and accounts payable governance.
- NetSuite experience preferred; familiarity with Rippling or equivalent payroll systems is a plus.
- Highly skilled in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Exceptional communicator and collaborative team member, with strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
- Capable of working independently while contributing to team objectives.
