Job Description

strategic and hands-on Finance Leader

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in finance leadership, compliance, and governance, combined with the agility to execute and implement processes independently.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Finance Leadership & Strategy

  • Establish and lead the Finance function end-to-end — from accounting, reporting, and compliance to strategic financial planning.
  • Partner with founders and leadership to define financial strategy, budgets, and growth plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Create and implement robust SOPs, internal controls, and governance frameworks to build financial discipline and transparency.
  • Drive financial efficiency and accuracy across all processes, simplifying and digitizing wherever possible.

2. Due Diligence & Investor Support

  • Lead comprehensive financial due diligence for fundraising and investor discussions (Seed, Series A & B).
  • Ensure accuracy and transparency in financial information shared with investors and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with senior management to support fundraising, valuations, and financial modeling.

3. Audit, Compliance & Regulatory

  • Oversee statutory and internal audits, ensuring compliance with all financial and regulatory standards (FY 2017–2024 experience preferred).
  • Manage GST, TDS, Income Tax, and RBI filings, including DNBS02, DNBS04A/B, and DNBS10 returns, ensuring 100% accuracy and timeliness.
  • Handle statutory audits, tax assessments, and regulatory scrutiny with precision and compliance confidence.

4. Financial Planning & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Build and maintain MIS dashboards for leadership decision-making.
  • Monitor and analyze key financial indicators (Net Owned Funds, Net Worth, CRAR, GNPA, NPA, etc.) to drive data-led business insights.

5. Accounting, Payroll & Operations Management

  • Independently manage accounting, receivables, payables, and reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely closing of books.
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing

    , including salary computation, statutory deductions (PF, PT, ESIC, TDS), and timely disbursal of employee salaries.
  • Coordinate with HR and external vendors to ensure 100% statutory compliance in payroll filings and employee reimbursements.
  • Develop accounting processes for new products or business models as the company scales.
  • Optimize cash flow, working capital, and fund management through structured planning and controls.

6. Regulatory Filings & RBI Returns

  • Prepare and submit key RBI regulatory returns including DNBS02 (Important Financial Parameters), DNBS04A (Short-Term Dynamic Liquidity), DNBS04B (Structural Liquidity and Interest Rate Sensitivity), and DNBS10 (Statutory Auditor Certificate).
  • Ensure timely and compliant submissions as per NBFC and RBI requirements.



Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:

    Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA (Finance) preferred.
  • Experience:

    Minimum

    8 years of total experience

    , with at least

    3 years leading or independently managing the finance function

    .
  • Prior experience in

    startups or the health tech sector

    will be a

    strong advantage

  • Demonstrated ability to build finance operations from scratch, create SOPs, and drive process simplification and automation.
