n n nThis is a remote position.Position Type: ContractKATBOTZ LLC is seeking an experienced SAP Tax Lead with over 10 years of professional experience to join our dynamic team, focusing on optimizing tax processes, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic tax initiatives within SAP environments.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Tax Process Management: Manage and oversee the complete tax lifecycle within SAP, including tax determination, calculation, reporting, compliance, and remittance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Implementation Leadership: Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP Tax solutions, ensuring alignment with global tax regulations, organizational policies, and best practices while maximizing operational efficiency.
- Tax Compliance and Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax returns, statutory reports, and regulatory filings, leveraging SAP functionalities to maintain compliance with domestic and international tax requirements.
- Tax Strategy and Planning: Conduct comprehensive tax analysis to support strategic decision-making, identifying optimization opportunities, tax-saving initiatives, and risk mitigation strategies.
- System Configuration and Enhancement: Direct the configuration and customization of SAP Tax modules (including Tax Reporting and Tax Compliance solutions) to enhance tax functionalities and ensure seamless integration with FI, MM, SD, and other related modules.
- Internal Controls and Risk Management: Design, implement, and monitor internal controls related to tax processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, audit standards, and minimizing tax-related risks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, accounting, IT, legal, and external tax advisors to align on business requirements, streamline tax processes, and support tax audits and inquiries.
- Data Accuracy and Integrity: Ensure high levels of data accuracy and integrity within tax processes by conducting regular audits, reconciliations, and validation of tax-related transactions.
- User Training and Support: Develop comprehensive training materials and deliver training sessions to finance and tax teams on SAP Tax functionalities, promoting best practices and effective system utilization.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Serve as a subject matter expert for tax-related system issues, providing timely resolution and implementing continuous improvements to optimize tax processes.
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects related to tax process improvements, system upgrades, and regulatory changes, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget constraints, and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Regulatory Updates and Compliance: Stay current with evolving tax legislation, regulatory changes, and industry trends, ensuring timely implementation of system updates and process modifications to maintain compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 10+ years of experience in tax roles with extensive experience in SAP Tax processes, functionalities, and implementations.
- Comprehensive understanding of direct and indirect taxation, transfer pricing, tax compliance requirements, and tax reporting standards across multiple jurisdictions.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master's in Taxation, MBA) or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, Enrolled Agent, Certified Tax Advisor).
- Proficiency in SAP Financial Accounting (FI), SAP Tax Reporting, SAP Tax Compliance, and integration with Materials Management (MM) and Sales & Distribution (SD) modules.
- Experience with global tax determination engines, tax compliance software, and automated tax reporting tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights for tax optimization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, external auditors, and tax authorities.
- Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of VAT/GST, sales and use tax, withholding tax, corporate income tax, and other relevant tax domains.
