Job Summary

The Salesforce Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and successfully delivering Salesforce implementation, enhancement, and integration projects. The role involves managing cross-functional teams, coordinating with stakeholders, controlling scope, schedule, cost, and quality, and ensuring alignment with business objectives while following Salesforce best practices and delivery methodologies.


Key Responsibilities


Project Planning & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of Salesforce projects including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and custom Salesforce solutions etc.
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and success criteria.
  • Develop detailed project plans, sprint plans, and release schedules.
  • Manage project dependencies, risks, assumptions, and constraints.
  • Ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery.


Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, internal stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings, status meetings, sprint reviews, and steering committee updates.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable tasks for technical teams.
  • Manage client expectations and handle change requests effectively.


Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Coordinate with Salesforce Developers, Administrators, Architects, QA, Business Analysts, and UX teams.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure accountability across teams.
  • Resolve resource conflicts and remove delivery blockers.
  • Foster collaboration between onshore and offshore teams when applicable.


Agile / Delivery Management

  • Drive Agile or hybrid delivery models (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, Waterfall as required).
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
  • Track velocity, burn-down charts, and delivery metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to Agile best practices and continuous improvement.


Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure Salesforce implementations follow platform best practices, security standards, and governance guidelines.
  • Coordinate testing phases including system testing, integration testing, and UAT.
  • Ensure documentation standards are met (functional specs, technical docs, release notes).
  • Support go-live planning, deployment, and post-production stabilization.


Risk, Issue & Change Management

  • Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage issue escalation and resolution.
  • Evaluate and control scope changes through formal change management processes.


Reporting & Governance

  • Provide regular project status reports covering schedule, budget, scope, risks, and milestones.
  • Track KPIs such as delivery timelines, utilization, defect leakage, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain project documentation and audit trails.


Required Skills & Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.


Experience

  • 5–10 years of overall project management experience.
  • 3+ years managing Salesforce implementation projects.
  • Experience working in service-based or consulting environments preferred.


Salesforce Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities and limitations.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce products: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and integrations.
  • Ability to engage in functional discussions and guide solution design (not hands-on development).


Project Management Skills

  • Strong command of Agile and traditional project management methodologies.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning experience.


Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Client-facing confidence and negotiation skills.


Preferred Certifications

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator
  • Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud or Service Cloud Consultant (preferred)
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) (preferred)
