Job Purpose:
To lead and manage the procurement function of the company, ensuring the cost-effective and timely
sourcing of veterinary pharmaceuticals, equipment, and consumables. This role requires strategic
vendor management, demand planning, inventory control, and compliance with regulatory standards
relevant to the veterinary industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of veterinary products and equipment (local and
international).
- Vendor Management:
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors.
- Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and ensure vendor compliance with quality
standards.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:
- Forecast demand in coordination with sales and inventory teams.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels to avoid stock-outs and overstock situations.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with import laws, drug regulatory requirements,
and quality standards (e.g., FDA, MOH, etc.).
Cost Optimization:
- Continuously analyze and reduce procurement costs while maintaining product quality.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor the procurement team, fostering a performance-driven culture.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate procurement records.
- Prepare and present periodic procurement reports to senior management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Veterinary
Sciences, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 20–25 years of experience in procurement, with at least 15 years in a leadership
role (preferably in veterinary, pharmaceutical, or medical sectors).
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems.
- Familiarity with veterinary industry regulations and international sourcing practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
