A veterinary technician (vet tech) is a trained professional who assists veterinarians in diagnosing and treating animals. They perform various medical tasks, including:Responsibilities of a Vet Tech:Assisting in animal examinationsAdministering medications and vaccinesCollecting blood, urine, and tissue samplesPerforming laboratory tests (bloodwork, urinalysis, etc.)Monitoring anesthesia during surgeriesTaking and developing X-raysProviding wound care and first aidEducating pet owners on animal careMaintaining medical recordsEducation & Certification:Most vet techs complete a two-year associate degree in veterinary technology.
