Post : Purchase Executive / Sr purchase Executive (Mid-Level) Company :Reputed Ferro Alloys Company Department : Purchase/ Procurement Qualification : Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Metallurgy preferred, Diploma) Mba/M.tech/Pgdm in Supply Chain Management / Operations (preferred) Experience : 5 to 10 Years experience in iron and steel industry Salary : 4.2 to 7 Lpa Location :Durgapur Job Description Strategic Procurement Planning : Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and market trends in the iron and steel sector. Vendor Management : Identify, evaluate, and develop strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers of raw materials (iron ore, coal, scrap, ferroalloys, etc.), engineering goods, and Mro items. Contract Negotiation : Lead high-value negotiations and long-term contracts ensuring optimal pricing, quality, and delivery terms. Cost Optimization : Continuously monitor and drive cost savings initiatives through value engineering, alternate sourcing, and supply chain optimization. Inventory Management : Collaborate with production and inventory teams to ensure just-in-time procurement, reducing holding costs while avoiding stockouts. Compliance Risk Management : Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal controls, statutory requirements, and ethical standards. Mitigate supply chain risks through effective planning and diversification. Team Leadership : Manage and mentor a team of procurement professionals, ensuring skill development, performance evaluation, and adherence to Kpi(s). Technology Adoption : Implement and manage procurement software/tools (e.g., Sap, Oracle, Erp systems) for better analytics, reporting, and decision-making. Market Intelligence : Monitor global and domestic market trends, commodity price fluctuations, and supply-demand dynamics affecting steel production inputs. Key Skills Competencies In-depth knowledge of procurement processes in the iron and steel industry Strong understanding of raw material sourcing , particularly steelmaking inputs Excellent negotiation and contract management skills Experience in global sourcing and import/export documentation Should have knowledge in both technical and commercial part.
