, from identifying requirements and sourcing vendors to negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery. You will also play a key role in driving cost savings, improving vendor performance, and supporting new product development through strategic purchasing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Management
- Handle day-to-day purchasing activities, including preparing and issuing purchase orders, quotations, and contracts.
- Identify reliable vendors and suppliers, evaluate quotations, and ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
- Develop and maintain a robust supplier database to support business requirements.
- Vendor Development & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure consistent supply and service quality.
- Conduct vendor evaluations and performance reviews to improve sourcing efficiency.
- Negotiate payment terms, lead times, and service agreements to secure favorable conditions.
- Material Sourcing & Cost Optimization
- Source raw materials, equipment, and components based on engineering specifications and project needs.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and alternative products for cost reduction.
- Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives across procurement activities.
- Coordination & Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as engineering, production, quality, and finance teams to align procurement activities with business objectives.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays.
- Support new project development by sourcing materials and services as per design requirements.
- Compliance & Process Improvement
- Ensure procurement activities comply with organizational policies, contracts, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier correspondence.
- Identify process gaps in purchasing workflows and recommend improvements for efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain functions, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor development, and contract negotiations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate supplier proposals and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
