Job Description

For New Customer Orders (once Contract Review is released) - Download BOM from ERP, verify & discuss with Stores department regarding actual physical stock in stores, discuss with Engineering on availability of material or using alternates

Discussion with Purchase team members on any queries regarding on-going material requirement

Discussion & negotiation with Suppliers prior for placing fresh Purchase Order (on Price, delivery schedule etc.)

Supplier follow-up on delivery - on purchase orders already placed (based on priority & urgency)

Quotations to be taken from suppliers from Vendor list (3 to 4 quotations for major items), price negotiated & PO placed. Lower value between last purchase price, Budget estimate & Engineering costing considered as benchmark

On material rejection during IGI, discuss with Engineering & Production team if acceptable deviation note generated by Purchase to accept material. In case of major non-compliance which is not acceptable - inform supplier for replacement within 1-2 Days

Support Stores with Inventory management - with regard to POs, supply data, invoice data etc.

Coordinating & corresponding between Supplier and Engineering team on any doubts regarding material, drawings, dimensions etc.

Arranging shortage material requirement (for production team) based on PR request - on priority basis

Discussion regarding Major Materials with Stores based on actual Inventory Physical Stock

Suppliers visit to identify new sources for material requirement - New Vendor Development (NVD)

Discussion with Supplier at factory premises on upcoming orders, prices, delivery, Payment Terms etc.

Weekly price update of Major materials - price list to be updated to Engineering

Supplier audits with Quality team at supplier premises

Planning & Arranging logistics support for long-distance dispatches (non-local or non-porter related) e.g. for Indian Railway related orders

Discussion with Accounts regarding payments, invoices or related issues

Performs other duties as assigned and ready to train & empower junior staff to build strong team & department
