Job Description

I. Summary:

 

Project Manager

 

II. Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Project Planning & Execution

     
  1. Prepare detailed project plans, schedules, and deliverables in alignment with client requirements. 
  2. Coordinate with design, procurement, and production teams to ensure project readiness. 
  3. Monitor project progress and proactively mitigate risks/delays. 


  • Client Management & Stakeholder Coordination

     
  1. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clarity in scope, timelines, and deliverables. 
  2. Conduct regular progress meetings and provide updates to clients and internal management. 
  3. Ensure prompt resolution of client issues/concerns and achieve high client satisfaction. 


  • Technical Oversight

     
  1. Review and interpret

    design documents, wiring diagrams, PLC logic

    , and technical specifications. 
  2. Provide hands-on support in troubleshooting issues during commissioning. 
  3. Ensure adherence to technical standards and quality requirements. 


  • Team Leadership & Field Operations

     
  1. Lead, motivate, and manage field engineers and technicians for on-site activities. 
  2. Ensure safety protocols and compliance with statutory regulations on-site. 


  • Vendor & Contractor Management

     
  1. Identify, negotiate, and manage subcontractors and vendors for timely material and service delivery. 
  2. Drive cost-efficiency without compromising quality and timelines. 


  • Budgeting & Cost Control

     
  1. Prepare and monitor project budgets to ensure execution within approved financial limits. 
  2. Identify cost-saving opportunities and track project profitability. 


  • Documentation & Handover

     
  1. Maintain proper documentation of project milestones, change requests, and approvals. 
  2. Ensure seamless commissioning and structured handover of projects to clients.

 

  • Payment & Collections

     
  1. Track client billing schedules and ensure timely payment collections as per project milestones. 

 

III. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

 

1. Project Timeliness

  • On-time delivery

    of projects against agreed schedules (

    ≥90% compliance

    ). 


2. Cost Management

  • Project execution within or below budget

    (variance ≤5%). 


3. Client Satisfaction

  • Client satisfaction score (post-project feedback

    ≥8/10

    ). 
  • Zero escalations

    on major deliverables. 


4. Quality & Compliance

  • Defect-free handover

    of projects (First-Time Right metric ≥95%). 
  • Compliance with all

    safety, statutory, and quality standards


5. Financial Metrics

  • On-time payment collection

    (≥95% within agreed terms). 
  • Achievement of

    project gross margin targets


6. Team Management

  • Employee productivity & retention

    in project teams. 
  • Effective mentoring & performance tracking of field teams. 


7. Vendor Performance

  • On-time material/service delivery

    from vendors (

    ≥90% compliance

    ). 


IV. Requirements:

 

  • Education:

    B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, or Computer Engineering. 
  • Experience:

    7–10 years in project management for

    electronic/automation systems

    (preferably involving PLC-based systems). 
  • Technical Skills:

     
  1. PLC programming and ability to read/write ladder logic. 
  2. Strong knowledge of electrical/electronic circuits, automation systems, and control panels. 
  3. Ability to read & interpret technical drawings and documentation. 
  • Project Management:

    Proficiency in MS Project/Primavera, budgeting, scheduling, and vendor negotiations. 
  • Soft Skills:

    Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and client relationship management. 
  • Other:

    Must own a personal vehicle for site travel.
