Role Overview
We are looking for a Product Analyst who can build Zoca’s product analytics foundation from the ground up and turn user data into actionable insights that shape our roadmap. You will help us understand how salon and spa owners use our platform, what drives activation and retention, and how product experiences translate into business growth.You will work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to define what success looks like for our users — and use data to ensure we get there.
Key Responsibilities
Product Insights & Strategy
- Partner with product managers to define and track key product metrics such as activation, adoption, engagement, retention, and conversion.
- Establish and refine Zoca’s North Star metric and supporting KPIs to measure long-term product success.
- Integrate product usage insights with business outcomes such as subscription renewals, customer lifetime value (LTV), and retention.
User Behavior & Funnel Analysis
- Analyze user journeys to identify adoption patterns, friction points, and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct funnel, cohort, and retention analyses to uncover what drives long-term user value.
- Segment users based on behavioral patterns to inform feature prioritization and customer success strategies.
Experimentation & Testing
- Design and analyze A/B tests and feature experiments to measure the impact of product changes.
- Ensure statistical rigor in experimentation and communicate outcomes clearly to product and leadership teams.
- Create and maintain experimentation best practices across teams.
Analytics Infrastructure & Data Quality
- Define and maintain a clean event taxonomy and data dictionary for all tracked user events.
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure accurate instrumentation and data reliability across tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Segment.
- Own the product analytics stack, including tracking setup, reporting pipelines, and dashboard automation.
- Partner with data engineering to improve data collection, transformation, and validation processes.
AI-Powered Insights
- Use AI tools to accelerate data exploration, anomaly detection, segmentation, and pattern recognition.
- Build or experiment with models that predict churn, activation likelihood, or high-value user cohorts.
Reporting & Visualization
- Build and maintain self-serve dashboards that track key product KPIs for stakeholders across product, growth, and leadership.
- Translate complex analyses into clear, visual, and actionable insights that guide product decisions.
- Present findings in product reviews, sprint retrospectives, and roadmap discussions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with design and research to combine quantitative findings with qualitative insights such as NPS and user feedback.
- Collaborate with marketing and customer success to translate user behavior insights into growth strategies.
- Help product and engineering teams prioritize features based on data-driven impact.
What We’re Looking For
- 2–4 years of experience in a Product Analyst or similar analytics role at a data-driven startup or SaaS company.
- Strong SQL proficiency for data extraction and user behavior analysis.
- Working knowledge of Python for data manipulation, cohort analysis, and statistical testing.
- Hands-on experience with product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar.
- Experience designing and evaluating A/B tests with statistical rigor.
- Ability to build clear dashboards using tools like Looker, Tableau, or equivalent.
- Experience defining event taxonomies and maintaining data consistency.
- Strong understanding of SaaS product metrics (activation, engagement, retention, churn, LTV).
- Bonus: Experience with B2B SaaS, SMB tools, or marketing automation products.
