Plant Head

Objective

Drive safe & efficient  plant operations by collaborating and close coordination with all functions within and outside of manufacturing unit to ensure overall plant objectives are accomplished in timely and cost-effective manner.

Duties & Responsibilities

·      To manage all plant operations like Production, Quality, Delivery, Store, Safety, HR, and local purchase, plant maintenance and commercial activities within company policies.

·      Ensure quality product delivery; Manage overall operations involved in production planning including coordinating for ensuring manpower management, proper supplies and up-time of equipment maintenance

·      Responsible for the Plant P&L & controlling costs to meet the targets.

·      Plan, direct and maintain efficient production operations as well as assign & evaluate  work performance of personnel assigned

·      Minimize performance bottleneck for achieving high productivity with optimization of Men & Machine, improve Quality, cost, delivery & Productivity

·      Should be able to inculcate 5S, KAIZEN, Lean manufacturing, POKA-YOKE, Zero defect and Safety first culture in the organisation.  

·      Able to initiate cost reduction Project, evaluate and review high level of design & product development. Costing of Products and good commercial acumen, conversant in inventory control tools.

·      Ensure ZERO stock variance in monthly, quarterly and yearly stock counting

·      Implementing various strategies for achieving plant targets, safety incident rate, expenses, productivity, OTD, TAT, Customer complaints, process and product quality.

·      Ensure 100% adherence to all legal, Health, environmental and safety compliances and coordination with respective government offices and timely submission of files and documents

·      Demonstrate excellence in building Manufacturing team, enhance production output, reduce scrap generation, upgrade product quality, develop new products / add features and on-time shipping, exceeding customer expectations, developing systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards.

·      Drives the team for cost effective engineering solutions, simplified and robust processes, sharing knowledge, developing automation tools, collaborative environment, Innovations, etc.

·      Responsible for doing Competency mapping and identifying the skill gaps in the team and developing them for future role

·      Strategy formulation & execution including Project / Program / Change Management

·      Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.

·      Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining standard quality.

Team Management

·      Lead, mentor & monitor performance of team members to ensure efficiency in process operations and meeting of production targets

·      Create and sustain a dynamic environment that fosters development opportunities and motivates high performance among team members

Academic Qualifications

 B-Tech / M- Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering from Recognized Institute.

               Preferable certification 6 Sigma – Black Belt, ALDP Training, Lean Manufacturing

Work Experience & Skills

·      Demonstrable experience of leading a manufacturing function with a proven track record in strategic manufacturing leadership delivering effective manufacturing strategies, policies, processes and systems

·      Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements

·      Proven project management and build quality experience

·      Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level

·      Proven success in leading top-notch professionals

·      18+ years of progressive experience in Manufacturing and Assembly with 5+ Years as Plant Head

·     

Language Fluency

·       High level of proficiency in English and Hindi
