Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet production plans, delivery schedules, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and methods (4M).
  • Monitor OEE, cycle time, takt time, and line balancing.
  • Drive productivity improvement and reduce downtime and scrap.

Quality Management

  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Oversee APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, and Control Plans.
  • Handle customer complaints, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Prepare and lead internal, external, and customer audits.

Maintenance & Engineering

  • Ensure effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance.
  • Improve machine availability and reliability through TPM.
  • Approve new machine installations, tooling, and process improvements.

Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

  • Ensure compliance with Factory Act, EHS standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Promote a zero-accident culture across the plant.
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and safety training programs.

Cost Control & Budgeting

  • Prepare and manage plant budgets and operating costs.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives (VA/VE, scrap reduction, energy saving).
  • Monitor inventory, WIP, and material usage.

Supply Chain & Customer Coordination

  • Coordinate with SCM, logistics, and planning teams for uninterrupted material flow.
  • Ensure on-time delivery (OTD) to OEM / customer plants.
  • Act as a key contact for customer visits and reviews.

People Management & Industrial Relations

  • Lead and develop production, quality, maintenance, and support teams.
  • Manpower planning, skill development, training, and performance management.
  • Maintain healthy industrial relations and employee discipline.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, and TPM initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and plant management capability
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes
  • Lean / TPM / Kaizen implementation experience
  • Cost control and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer handling skills

Qualifications

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Industrial Engineering

Experience

  • 8–14 years of experience in automotive manufacturing
  • 3–5 years in a senior role such as Plant Head / Factory Head / Operations Head

Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
