Summary Of The Role
Preparing & reviewing technical design documents, proposals and plans, coordination with stakeholders and contractors and ensuring quality and compliance in functions of fire protection system for the entire plant.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Responsible for right design, ensuring that standards & regulations in the fire protection industry such as NFPA, NBC, TAC & FM global are implemented.
- Play key role in preparing design & engineering work for entire plant from fire protection system mechanical as well as electrical fire safety/ Protection system for HT/LT panels, control rooms, fire alarm system for office buildings, provide solutions for gas leakage detection system & selecting of correct protection system based on type of hazard and Environment.
- Engaged in RFQ preparation and review, evaluation of technical offers, preparation of technical bid analysis, technical recommendation and post order management of equipment and packages.
- Approval of ITP/QAP for entire fire protection packages, conduct inspection at vendors shop along with TPI.
- Monitoring & tracking of project progress ensuring time, cost, quality, safety, and risk throughout project life cycle, delivering flawless execution of project.
- Coordinate with EPC consultant, Site MEP team for right design & quality material / methodologies are used during execution phase & test methods are followed.
- Ensure right construction and installation work on site including site inspection, validation of test reports, quality reports, work acceptance, work front allocation to other disciplines, managing site progress as per schedule. Lead Quality and HSE Audits on site.
- Support Site/Project team to work with site team/contractors/suppliers/equipment vendors during execution, mechanical completion & pre-commissioning trials.
- The role will involve some amount of travelling that includes- Feild visits, inspection, vendor/service provider qualification etc
Education / Certification
Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Professional certification in fire protection engineering (e.g., PE, CFEI).
Experience And Skills
- Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in fire protection engineering design in Chemical/Petrochemical plants. Must have worked as Lead role in last 3 years.
- Well conversant with industry best practices for project engineering, execution including safety, quality during project delivery.
- On site Field Execution experience will be added advantage. Knowledge of work experience in reviewing the materials specification for FPS .
- Experience on manpower and team management of site contractors and consultant.
- Strong knowledge of fire safety codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IBC).
- Proficiency in fire protection system design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills
- Experience of preparing and development of drawings, layouts, General Arrangements, design specification, tenders related to Fire Protection system,
