Manager, Research This position requires onsite work five days a week in the Mumbai suburbs. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available. The Mintz Group is seeking an inquisitive, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Manager, Research with strong research skills for our Mumbai office. You will join a team of bright, curious, and collaborative researchers who speak more than 30 languages across our global offices. As a Manager, Research, you will lead a range of complex investigations, including due diligence, business intelligence, fraud investigations, and litigation support assignments. This role involves managing internal workflows, collaborating with global teams, mentoring junior investigators, and ensuring high-quality investigative reports for our clients. Key Responsibilities Conduct and Manage Complex Investigations Lead and execute due diligence, business intelligence, fraud investigations, and litigation support assignments. Conduct in-depth research on companies and individuals worldwide, analyzing legal, regulatory, and reputational risks. Oversee case management, ensuring effective coordination of investigative workflows, including internal teams, external sources, and subcontractors. Maintain client engagement throughout the investigative process, providing updates, insights, and strategic recommendations. Supervise Team and Mentor Investigators Serve as a mentor and role model for junior and senior investigators, offering guidance and training. Provide real-time support to the investigative team, addressing complex or challenging research issues. Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and skill development initiatives to enhance team performance. Ensure Quality and Compliance in Deliverables Draft and edit analytical, client-ready reports, ensuring findings are thoroughly researched, clearly communicated, and actionable. Review investigative reports, ensuring accuracy, thoroughness, and compliance with internal standards and client expectations. Conduct rigorous quality control checks to uphold the firm's reputation for excellence. Financial and Business Development Management Manage case budgets effectively, ensuring adherence to financial constraints and obtaining necessary approvals for any overages before client billing. Contribute to business development efforts, including client relationship management, billing processes, and expanding the firm's client base. Support leadership in strategic initiatives that drive operational efficiency and market growth. What Makes You a Great Fit? Essential Qualifications: Education: Undergraduate degree in journalism, political science, international relations, criminal justice, forensic science, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus. Experience: 3-4 years of experience in investigations, due diligence, risk management, business intelligence consulting, or journalism, with a focus on research and case management. Research & Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze, synthesize, and clearly communicate complex information in a concise and compelling manner. Writing & Communication: Exceptional writing skills with superior attention to detail and proficiency in English (both written and verbal). Technology & Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, and experience using investigative databases like Westlaw and Nexis. Critical Thinking: Advanced problem-solving abilities with the capability to manage multiple assignments under strict deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: Language Skills: Proficiency in an additional language is highly desirable.
