What You Will Achieve
The Incumbent as a member of Engineering team is second in command in the department and is responsible for providing engineering and maintenance support in compliance with Plant SOPs, cGMP, Good engineering Practices, EHS and Global Engineering standards, Budgets, in the assigned areas. Is responsible for ensuring continuous availability of machines for Production, monitoring other required parameters.

Lead and manage people, technology, and financial resources within the department.

Oversee operational activities to support the department's short-term goals and manage multiple projects involving cross-functional representatives.

Solicit input, explain complex concepts, and persuade others to adopt a point of view while effectively sharing your own perspective and rationale.

Provide technical engineering oversight for project execution plans and engineering studies for equipment component installation.

Support programs and systems with procedures and training, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements, including SOPs, cGMP, safety, quality, OSHA, and other standards.

Develop strategies and methods to improve preventive maintenance processes and procedures, enhancing equipment performance and conducting equipment evaluations for new or replacement needs.

Facilitate equipment-based Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations, govern maintenance planning and scheduling, foster teamwork, encourage colleague development, and provide salary planning and change management recommendations.

Support Manager Engineering in day to day functioning of the Engineering department.

To design and implement preventive, predictive , breakdown and shutdown maintenance schedules and execution thereof.

To Support Manager Engineering in Annual Engineering budget and keeping track of expenses, monitoring.

Liaison with all applicable Government Offices such as Electricity Board, Public Works Department, Factory Inspectorate & Boilers, Industrial Development Corporation office, Meterology etc.

Ensure statutory compliances required under the different enactments administered by the above offices.

To identify, study, propose and implement energy saving cost reduction, automation productivity improvement measures in the department.

Project Mangement - To execute projects for expansion/modification as and when necessary.

To oversee installation of new Machineries and decommissioning of machineries /equipments to be replaced.

To guide, plan and mange Plant wide maintenance activities, including devising and reviewing solutions to problems in order to support continuity of operations and compliance with CGMP and SOPs

To carry out validations, IQ, OQ, DQ, in respect of engineering dept machineries and equipment's.

To guide Engineers in maintenance activities to optimize resources and minimum/Budgeted production downtime.

To evaluate vendors/suppliers /service providers for various Engineering services and recommend for services / contracts / AMCs.

To supervise and verify the bills/work of the vendors/contractors/service providers

To provide engineering support to EHS dept in carrying out Plant safety audits/inspections and to take appropriate corrective actionsin case of any unsafe conditions.

To carry out departmental orientation and induction of personnel.

To inculcate good engineering Practices amongst the dept personnel.

Improve safe work conditions and safe working practices to have zero accidents and environment friendly operations.

Adherence to local legal requirements, EHS policy and EHS standards/ programs/ SOPs to ensure compliance and improve the safety culture.

Participation in safety meetings, EHS programs and EHS events and proactively report and address EHS issues and Near Misses.

To ensure adherence and compliance to ISO 9001/14001, OHSAS 18001 and ICH requirements.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
-
Qualification: BE Mechanical
-
10 to 15 years' experience in maintenance of a pharmaceutical unit. Solid dosage unit experience will be preferred.

Strong understanding of Process Safety Management elements.
-
Proficiency in Enterprise Asset Management Solutions or other CMMS applications.
-
Thorough knowledge of cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), FDA regulations, and current pharmaceutical industry standards.

Strong people management experience.
-
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements):

Master's degree with relevant pharmaceutical experience.
-
Industry experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Experience in equipment-based Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations.

Ability to develop and establish strategies and methods that improve preventive maintenance processes and procedures.

Experience in providing technical engineering oversight to develop project execution plans and associated engineering studies for equipment component installation.
