Manager - Maintenance

Job Description:

The Maintenance In-Charge is responsible for overseeing all electrical, instrumentation and

mechanical maintenance activities within the facility. This role involves supervising

maintenance staff, planning and executing preventive and breakdown maintenance,

ensuring minimal equipment downtime, and maintaining safety and compliance standards.

The position also requires effective manpower management, coordination with other

departments, and liaising with government authorities for inspections, approvals, and

statutory compliance. Strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and experience in

industrial maintenance are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

 Lead and manage the Maintenance Department, including electrical, mechanical,

and instrumentation teams.

 Ensure maximum uptime and reliability of key process equipment such as

fermenters, distillation columns, boilers, turbines, compressors, evaporators, and

effluent treatment systems.

 Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance

strategies tailored for distillery operations.

 Oversee maintenance and calibration of field instruments, PLCs, VFDs, SCADA

systems, and other automation/control components.

 Ensure adherence to statutory compliance, including boiler regulations, ATEX

(explosive atmosphere standards), fire safety, and electrical systems.

 Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure seamless operation of all

utilities and process units.

 Implement and manage a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

for scheduling, tracking, and reporting maintenance tasks.

 Optimize maintenance budgets, manage critical spare parts inventory, and oversee

service contracts and vendor performance.

 Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of recurring issues and drive continuous

improvement initiatives.

 Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives, including reducing power and

steam consumption and managing water resources.

 Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMP, HACCP, ISO, and other

applicable quality and safety standards.
