Manager Finance Operations & Shared Services
A critical role!
This is a broad, hands-on leadership role responsible for building and leading the Alluvium Group’s back-office finance and shared services capability from India. Based in Delhi, the Manager Finance Operations & Shared Services (India) will play a critical role in ensuring the financial strength, integrity, and long-term sustainability of the Alluvium Group by leading global financial support functions, internal service delivery, reporting, planning, treasury, and process optimisation across entities.
This role has dual accountability: (1) full end-to end responsibility for the India entity’s finance function, and (2) leadership of Group back-office finance and shared services functions, which will transition from Australia into India over time.
In addition to group-wide responsibilities, the role also oversees financial governance, compliance, statutory reporting, and payroll for the India entity. The position acts as a trusted advisor to the CFO and Executive Team and requires a modern leadership approach, strong strategic mindset, and the ability to operate autonomously in a complex and fast-paced environment.
The role will grow into managing a growing Global Shared Services support team in India, building a culture of efficiency, service excellence, and continuous improvement. The position partners closely with Group COO.
What you will do
•Establish and lead an India-based Shared Services finance function, transitioning accounting activities in-house from Australia shared services and external providers, and building a scalable team and operating model.
•Own delivery excellence across AP, AR, reconciliations and core back-office processes, embedding SLAs, strong internal service culture, and continuous improvement to support cross-region stakeholders.
•Lead monthly/annual close and high-quality reporting, supporting group-wide close timelines, maintaining data integrity and COA discipline, and contributing to India statutory reporting (Ind AS) and group consolidation requirements.
•Drive insights through analytics and automation, developing Power BI/Excel models and management reporting with variance analysis that supports decision-making by the CFO, GMs and project leaders.
•Ensure strong financial governance and compliance, overseeing payroll, audits and Indian statutory/tax obligations (e.g., GST, TDS, corporate tax, transfer pricing), while strengthening controls, risk management, budgeting and forecasting support.
Skills and Experience
Required Qualifications
•Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce; CA/CPA (or equivalent) preferred•10 years relevant experience with 5 years in senior finance leadership role with multi-entity or cross-border exposure
Preferred Qualifications /experience and skills
•Strong expertise in corporate structures, transfer pricing, and complex accounting issues—providing guidance on matters involving banks, intercompany transactions, and cross-border structuring for the Group.
•Qualified finance leader with strong technical depth across statutory reporting, audit/risk oversight, payroll, and financial strategy in an Indian context.
•Strong Ind AS capability with exposure to IFRS/GAAP, supporting multi-entity reporting and group consolidation requirements.
•Proven people and change leader, with experience uplifting team capability and driving process, control, and system improvements (ideally in shared services/offshore models).
•Advanced systems and analytics skills, including ERP expertise (Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar), Power BI (must-have), and advanced Excel modelling/reporting (DAX/data models desirable).
•Commercial, hands-on and highly collaborative, with excellent stakeholder management across geographies, high integrity, and a continuous improvement mindset; experience in consulting/professional services or project-based/ESG environments is advantageous.
