Management Accountant

In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing management reports, financial forecasts, and performance analyses that enable leadership to make informed decisions. You’ll collaborate with department heads, improve internal controls, and streamline reporting systems in a dynamic SaaS environment.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Deliver accurate and insightful weekly, monthly, and ad hoc management reports.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain forecasts, annual budgets, and rolling cash flow projections.
• Analyse financial performance across departments to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Support and develop financial modelling, reporting, and SaaS metrics for new initiatives and commercial decisions.
• Oversea accounts receivable collections 

🔹 Business Partnering & Decision Support

• Partner with department heads to translate financial data into actionable insights.
• Conduct scenario analysis to inform strategic and operational decisions.
• Prepare board- and investor-ready financial summaries and performance dashboards.

🔹 Process Improvement & Controls

• Maintain robust financial controls, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Streamline accounting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
• Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and internal policies.

🔹 Systems & Tools

• Maintain and enhance financial systems (e.g., Xero, Power BI) and ensure data integrity across all reporting tools.

🔹 Compliance & External Reporting

• Support external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors during statutory filings.
• Assist with the preparation of R&D claims, grants, and other compliance documentation.

Must Have

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in management accounting or a similar experience role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and core finance processes.

Nice to Have

• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CA, or CPA is highly desirable.
• Experience in a SaaS business
• Knowledge of Australian tax compliance and reporting requirements.
• Experience with Power BI or other data visualisation tools.
