Scope of the Role

The Global Learning & Development (L&D) Manager will be responsible for building and driving a world-class learning strategy that empowers employees across geographies. This role will ensure training initiatives are aligned with business priorities, promote a culture of continuous learning, and enable leadership development globally. As the central point for global L&D, the position requires balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution, while ensuring consistency, scalability, and cultural sensitivity across regions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Development & Alignment:

  1. Define, implement, and continuously refine a global learning and development strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  2. Partner with leadership to assess future capability needs and design L&D interventions to close gaps.
  3. Develop frameworks for succession planning, talent readiness, and leadership pipeline building.

Program Design & Execution:

  1. Create scalable training programs (functional, technical, behavioral, leadership) for diverse global teams.
  2. Design leadership development and high-potential programs to groom future leaders.
  3. Integrate modern learning methodologies — blended learning, coaching, mentoring, and experiential learning.
  4. Foster a learning culture that encourages knowledge sharing, innovation, and self-driven development.

Global Enablement & Technology:

  1. Lead global deployment and optimization of a Learning Management System (LMS).
  2. Leverage AI, digital tools, and analytics to enhance learner experience and measure effectiveness.
  3. Curate learning content through global partnerships, vendors, and internal SMEs.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:

  1. Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and HR teams on learning strategies.
  2. Collaborate with regional leaders to address local training needs while maintaining global consistency.
  3. Manage external vendors and ensure cost-effective, high-quality delivery.

Measurement & Impact:

  1. Define KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to evaluate training effectiveness and business impact.
  2. Track learning ROI, employee performance improvement, and alignment with talent retention goals.
  3. Continuously optimize programs based on learner feedback, analytics, and business outcomes.

Leadership & People Management:

  1. Lead and mentor a team of L&D specialists across regions.
  2. Build internal faculty/SME networks to strengthen knowledge transfer.
  3. Promote inclusion and cultural awareness in global training programs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. 10–15 years of progressive experience in L&D, with at least 5 years in a global leadership role.
  2. Proven expertise in designing and implementing global training strategies.
  3. Strong experience in leadership development, change management, and succession planning.
  4. Hands-on experience with LMS platforms, digital learning tools, and e-learning content development.
  5. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills across diverse cultures.
  6. Postgraduate degree in HR, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
