Summary: This role is responsible for ensuring optimum utilization of the plant's production capacity to ensure complete adherence to the production plan and meeting the customer requirements OTIF. The role holder is to ensure adherence to EHS and compliance requirements as per internal SOPs. Role & responsibilities: Strategy & Planning: Drive the annual capacity utilization plan for the unit productions and drive its implementation within allocated budget and resources. Execute and govern the Operations strategy for the plants in alignment with business and unit strategy and direct the production managers to ensure the effective execution of the same. Adhere to the budget for production requirements and optimium utilization of resources. Drives production processes to deliver on budgeted price and volume at quality benchmarks to ensure OTIF. Unit Operations: Accountable for execution of annual production plan at plant level as per defined plan by Unit and drives achievement of production volumes and turnover as per defined targets. Meet the quality standards which satisfies all customers' vendor quality assessment parameters and ensure 100% compliance to instill a quality-focused culture at the unit. Accountable for cost savings in the areas of process, operating expenditure and equipment maintenance spending to minimize downtime and enhance productivity and utilization, utility consumption and effective resource utilization. Ensure maintenance of the plants facility and equipment through the Engineering team to meet production targets through periodic preventive maintenance schedules, Change Control & CAPA and sample audits through Gemba Walks. Make and submit reports to unit head including production achievement, productivity & yield, breakdowns, quality reports etc., on a periodic and ad hoc basis and intervenes for pre-emptive course correction. People & Leadership: Own and build a strong organization culture to build people objectives for the unit; cascades the organization's values / desired behaviours for their function. Identify and develop talent within the plant for succession planning. Ensure mandatory trainings are imparted across the plant at regular frequency- both functional, compliance related and behavioral. Process Improvements: Identify scope for automation and improvement of processes along with unit head and site leadership. Work closely with Production Lead and Unit head on capacity expansion and other transformation projects for specific plant along with relevant teams and ensures achievement of desired objectives. Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in manufacturing and collaborate with technical services team for process improvement. Safety, Health & Environment: Ensures 'zero incident' on health and safety guidelines and strict compliance on overall EHS guidelines at the production floor. Own the sustainability agenda for the plants along with Environment team, to ensure optimum use of resources, adherence to compliances and reduction in environmental footprints. Education Qualifications & Experience: B.E. (mechanical or chemical) 15+ years of strong exposure to end to end production management in chemical or allied industry; with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in leading unit production.
