Job Description

Basic Function

  • Proficient in Financial Accounting & Reporting, Taxation & Compliance, Financial Analysis, Client Engagement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Workday, GAAP
  • Onshore stakeholder management and internal team management
  • Essential Functions
    • Prepare Withholding & SUT Tax Returns, support the team members in query resolution.
    • Preparation of annual premium tax returns, estimates and other miscellaneous filings for US based entities.
    • Performing a review of filings prepared by other team members for accuracy, completeness and technical proficiency.
    • E filings of returns via OPTins and making the required payment to the state authority.
    • Performing transaction testing for five different types of transactions – New Business, Renewal, Reinstatement,
    • Cancellation and Endorsement, while using required applications.
    • Preparing federal and state workpapers for tax returns and extensions with the primary data provided by client.
    • Preparation of federal, state and local tax returns including extensions for US based Partnerships, Corporations, and S. Corporation using software's like Go System, OneSource etc.
    • Creating e-file XMLs of returns on platforms/software/applications approved by Internal Revenue Services (IRS).
    • Work on client’s portfolio to ascertain PFIC determination and various taxable impacts.
    • Perform Research on the open items and resolve them in timely manner.
    • Assist team to prepare internal reports, provide support in Audits and report deficiencies to offshore team.
    • Provide support to onshore team with tax audits as they arise
    • Co-ordinate within the team for training, resolving complex issues, seeking advice etc.
  • Provide support in preparation of MBR/QBR’s.
  • Primary Internal Interactions
    • Team members for the purpose of seeking co-operation & clarification on process-related matters & providing support when required
    • QCA for the purpose of feedback and audit
  • Primary External Interactions Client trainers, SMEs and Operations for the purpose of delivering day to day activities/deliverables.
  • Skills

Technical Skills

  • Advanced skills in MS Office, MS Excel, MS Word
  • Accounting System or ERP, Web based applications
  • Tax tools Premium Pro, Optins, One Source, AMsuite, GoRS, Accessory Manager, eWorkpapers etc
  • Knowledge of tax websites for payments

Process Specific Skills

  • Understanding of Premium Tax.
  • Knowledge of Tax payments and State Notice management, E filings of returns via OPTins
  • Logical data analysis to understand trends
  • Preparing federal and state workpapers for tax returns and extensions with the primary data provided by client
  • Preparation of federal, state and local tax returns including extensions for US based Partnerships, Corporations, and
S. Corporation
  • Process flows, Documentation and preparation of SOPs
  • Ability to support Internal and external tax audits
  • Ability to generate and pull specific reports from workday & upload Journals into workday
  • Ability to manage multiple workday projects

Education Requirements

Must be a graduate with at least 15 years of formal education in any stream with relevant experience in the technical areas listed on this JD.

B.Com / M.Com / MBA / Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting is required. Indirect tax experience is necessary.

Work Experience Requirements

Minimum 6-8 years of work experience in the technical fields as listed in this JD
