About the Team

The team Customer & Marketing Rapid Insights & Analytics, primarily work on solving business problems for Marketing organization. We deliver in depth insights with atmost accuracy in the rapidest of time. The methods we leverage to solve business problems are Root cause analysis, Hypothesis testing, A-B Testing, Year on Year Analysis, Sample Size determination etc. Our team excels in Retail business knowledge and are proactive in identifying opportunities to improve company’s performance.

Job Summary:

The primary purpose of the Lead Analyst – Customer & Marketing Analytics (Loyalty & Customer) role is to serve as a strategic analytical partner to Customer and Marketing leadership, with a strong focus on loyalty, customer behavior, and lifecycle analytics. This role is responsible for delivering in-depth customer insights and analytically driven recommendations that enable data-informed decisions across loyalty strategy, customer engagement, retention, and growth initiatives.

The Lead Analyst leverages multiple data sources and advanced analytical methodologies to develop a deep understanding of customer segments, loyalty performance, marketing effectiveness, and end-to-end customer journeys.

In addition to strong individual analytical contribution, this role includes tech leadership responsibilities, guiding and mentoring Analysts and Senior Analysts, setting analytical standards, reviewing outputs for quality and accuracy, and ensuring scalable and consistent insight delivery across the team. The Lead Analyst collaborates closely with cross-functional partners across Customer, Marketing, Product, Technology, and Analytics, works effectively within a matrixed organization, demonstrates self-leadership, and influences stakeholders at multiple levels through clear data-driven storytelling and recommendations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Enables business partners to make informed decisions based on root cause drivers of performance by working with functional partners to develop and maintain scorecards; analyzing and providing insights and performance analysis; collaborating with partners to translate functional plans into forecast inputs; creating MoS with input from functional partners by collecting and analyzing data; analyzing sensitivity of assumptions by developing scenarios.

  • Communicates financial and non-financial analysis and insights to leaders by preparing analyses through leveraging multiple data sources; identifying complete, consistent, and actionable insights & recommendations; translating insights into clear, understandable themes.

  • Being up to date on the tools at our disposal, in order to improvise the process and incorporate the tools in daily process to reduce repetitive tasks.

  • Pursues self-development and effective relationships with others by organizing resources and information; openly sharing information, advice, and expertise with coworkers and customers; influencing others through technical explanations and examples; providing occasional mentoring to team members; seeking performance feedback; adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Ability to Develop Business Cases- Ability to develop business cases and provide recommendations based on analysis and thorough understanding of business needs.

  • Financial Analysis- Knowledge of and ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

  • Knowledge on Tools & software - Should have in-depth knowledge on coding languages, reporting concepts and BI tools. Expertise on Microsoft Excel, GCP, SQL, Python, DART, Looker Studio Pro/Power BI/Tableau etc. Should be able to use multiple tools to build insightful and interactive reports. Should have basic knowledge on Statistical concepts like Clustering, Normal distribution, regression, null hypothesis testion and basic Modelling. Good to have knowledge on LLM models.

  • Analytical Thinking- Knowledge of analytical techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and the ability to determine the root cause of business problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business.

  • Business Acumen- Understanding of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed to perform regular analysis.

  • Financial Analysis- Knowledge of and ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

  • Hypothesis Testing- Builds and/or validates hypothesis based on sound methodology, data gathering, and data analysis; uses data driven conclusions and decisions to provide solutions.

  • Information Capture- Knowledge of the processes and the ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner.

  • Mentorship -Provides ongoing coaching and mentorship to Analysts and Senior Analysts, supporting their development in analytical skills, business acumen, and stakeholder communication. Actively reviews work, shares best practices, and fosters a culture of learning, quality, and continuous improvement across the analytics team.

Years of Experience:

  • 8 years of experience in analytical role

  • 5-years of experience in Customer and Marketing analytics.

Education Qualification & Certifications (optional)

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics or any other Quantitative or master’s degree in Statistics, Analytics, Marketing, Economics, Math or Business with 7+ years’ experience in analytical role

Skill Set Required

Primary Skills (must have)

  • Experience working with analytical tools like GCP, SQL, Python etc.

  • Experience in visualization tools like LSP, Power BI, Tableau etc.

  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Experience in Leading and mentoring the team to great success.
