About Cumin Co.

Cumin Co. is a health-first kitchenware brand redefining the modern Indian kitchen with toxin-free, high-performance cookware. As we continue to scale, we are looking to build a lean, agile, and culture-forward team—and the HR Manager will play a key role in that journey.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment across functions: sourcing, screening, interviewing, and closing roles.
  • Coordinate with external hiring partners as needed.
  • Design and implement a structured onboarding process to ensure new hires feel aligned and productive from day one.

2. HR Operations

  • Own and manage HR documentation including offer letters, employment contracts, and exit paperwork.
  • Maintain employee records, databases, and personal files in compliance with company policies.

3. Payroll Inputs & Compliance

  • Collect and validate monthly payroll inputs including:
  • Attendance, LOP (Loss of Pay), and leave tracking
  • Salary proration for new joiners and exits
  • Bonuses, incentives, reimbursements, and one-time payouts
  • Statutory deductions (EPF, ESI, TDS, etc.)
  • Salary revisions, arrears, and F&F settlements
  • Coordinate with the finance/payroll partner to ensure accurate and timely salary processing.

4. HR Systems & Policy Setup

  • Set up and manage HR tools/portals for attendance, leave, documentation, and performance tracking.
  • Develop and periodically update HR policies and employee handbooks in line with compliance and culture.

5. Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Drive engagement initiatives, feedback mechanisms, and team-building activities.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and pulse surveys to improve retention and experience.
  • Address and resolve employee grievances in a timely and empathetic manner.

6. Background Verification & Legal

  • Coordinate background verification (BGV) for all new hires through vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and employment regulations.

7. Performance Management & Development

  • Manage performance cycles including goal setting, reviews, and feedback.
  • Work with managers to develop growth paths, skill development, and training plans.

Requirements:

  • 4–7 years of HR experience in a fast-paced startup or mid-sized firm.
  • Experience in payroll inputs, hiring, employee engagement, and HR operations.
  • Strong understanding of HR compliance, labor law, and statutory requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with high ownership and discretion.
  • Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems is a plus.
