Role Overview

HR Manager

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Own end-to-end hiring across functions — from writing JDs to closing offers
  • Build recruitment strategies for full-time, contract, and freelance roles
  • Manage sourcing pipelines, campus engagement, and external partnerships

Onboarding, Engagement & Culture

  • Create a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience for new hires
  • Drive employee engagement, internal communications, and team rituals
  • Build and reinforce a high-performance, high-empathy team culture

Payroll, Compliance & HR Ops

  • Manage monthly payroll, variable payouts, reimbursements, and bonuses
  • Maintain HR records, contracts, and compliance documents
  • Ensure timely filings of PF, ESIC, PT, and any applicable statutory obligations
  • Liaise with vendors for HR tech, insurance, or legal compliance as needed

Performance & People Development

  • Help define and roll out performance management frameworks and appraisal cycles
  • Set up review formats, feedback cadences, and career progression discussions
  • Support managers and founders in building team structures and clarity of roles

HR Systems & Policies

  • Implement or optimize HR tools (Keka, Zoho, etc.) to track leaves, attendance, etc.
  • Draft and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and workplace guidelines

You’re a Great Fit If You:

  • Have 5–8 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role at a startup or D2C brand
  • Are equally comfortable with strategy and execution — from policy design to interview coordination
  • Understand the nuances of small team dynamics and can operate with empathy, speed, and discretion
  • Are organized, process-driven, and a strong communicator
  • Bonus: Experience setting up HR from scratch or in early-stage environments
