Hiring Head-Procurement for a leading manufacturer of Chlor-Alkali chemicals.

Job Purpose

To lead the procurement function by developing and executing sourcing strategies for raw materials, chemicals, consumables, and services that ensure cost-efficiency, quality, and uninterrupted production in alignment with company goals and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

·        Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key spend categories, including raw materials, solvents, catalysts, packaging, and engineering supplies.

·        Monitor global and domestic chemical markets to anticipate pricing trends and availability.

Vendor & Contract Management

·        Identify, assess, and develop suppliers (domestic and international).

·        Lead negotiations and manage long-term agreements, ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.

·        Ensure compliance with REACH, RoHS, and other regulatory guidelines in procurement contracts.

Cost Optimization & Budgeting

·        Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation, and process improvements.

·        Prepare and monitor procurement budgets and ensure adherence to financial targets.

Inventory & Supply Assurance

·        Collaborate with production and planning teams to maintain optimum stock levels while minimising working capital.

·        Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production disruptions.

Team Leadership & Process Improvement

·        Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team.

·        Drive digitalization and automation of procurement processes using ERP (SAP/Oracle).

Compliance & Risk Management

·        Ensure all procurement activities adhere to legal and company compliance standards.

·        Identify risks in the supply chain and implement contingency plans.

Required Qualifications

·        Proven experience in strategic sourcing and procurement within the chemical/process/manufacturing industry.

·        Familiarity with global sourcing, customs regulations, and import/export documentation.

·        Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.

·        Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office.

·        Annual cost savings achieved

·        Supplier performance (OTIF, quality rejections)

·        Procurement lead time reduction

·        Inventory turnover improvement

·        Compliance audit results
