Position Overview

The Head of Operations will be responsible for the end-to-end leadership of our four plants, ensuring that production, quality, safety, and cost-efficiency meet the highest international benchmarks. This role requires visionary leadership, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to manage large, multi-disciplinary teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

You will have direct oversight of plant heads, production teams, and cross-functional departments, and will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of India’s cement bag industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across all four manufacturing plants.

• Drive world-class manufacturing practices, ensuring consistent production of over 7 crore bags per month with zero compromise on quality.

• Develop and enforce operational KPIs around efficiency, cost reduction, delivery timelines, and product performance.

• Institutionalize a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Lead capacity expansion projects, automation initiatives, and technology upgrades.

• Collaborate with the Head of TQM and other leadership roles to ensure total quality and operational synergy.

• Build a strong leadership pipeline by mentoring plant heads and middle managers.

• Ensure smooth alignment of supply chain, logistics, and vendor ecosystems with plant operations.

• Report directly to the Managing Director, with full P&L accountability for operations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Production Throughput – Consistently meeting/exceeding 7 crore bags per month across plants.

• Cost Efficiency – Reduction in per-unit cost through operational optimization.

• Downtime Reduction – Improved OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) across plants.

• Safety Metrics – Zero major incidents; best-in-class safety compliance.

• Delivery Reliability – >98% on-time delivery to customers.

• Employee Productivity – Increased performance and retention of plant staff.

• Innovation & Automation – Execution of high-impact modernization projects.

• Board Reporting – Clear, strategic, and solution-oriented updates to leadership.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Global mindset with experience in leading multi-plant operations in packaging, cement, automotive, or process-intensive industries.

• Minimum 20 years of experience, with at least 10 years in senior operational leadership roles.

• Proven track record of delivering results in high-volume manufacturing environments.

• Strong leadership presence, with the ability to manage thousands of employees through plant heads.

• Deep expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, automation, and process improvement.

• Exceptional decision-making and crisis-management skills.

• Engineering background preferred; additional MBA/Executive Leadership certification a plus.
