Position Summary
Head of Business Development
This is a unique opportunity to join a startup at the ground level and leverage your established network to drive our international expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales
- Leverage existing corporate relationships to immediately introduce and promote our BPO services to companies across USA, Canada, UK, Gulf, and Australia
- Activate your current network of decision-makers who have authority to approve outsourcing partnerships
- Conduct presentations, negotiations, and contract discussions with potential clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at target companies
- Identify market trends and opportunities in the BPO industry across target regions
- Fast-track sales cycles by utilizing warm relationships rather than cold prospecting
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as primary point of contact for high-value prospects and clients
- Understand client needs and customize BPO solutions accordingly
- Ensure smooth transition from sales to service delivery teams
- Monitor client satisfaction and identify upselling/cross-selling opportunities
Strategic Planning
- Develop market entry strategies for different geographical regions
- Collaborate with operations team to ensure service delivery capabilities align with market demands
- Provide market intelligence and competitive analysis
- Participate in strategic planning and company growth initiatives
Team Leadership
- Build and mentor a business development team as the company grows
- Establish sales processes, metrics, and reporting systems
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences
Required Qualifications:
Essential Requirements
- Proven Network: Existing relationships with decision-makers (C-level, VPs, Directors) at companies in USA, Canada, UK, Gulf countries, and Australia
- BPO/Outsourcing Experience: Minimum 7-15+ years in business development within BPO, IT services, or related outsourcing industries
- Track Record: Demonstrated success in securing multi-million dollar outsourcing contracts and history of successful business transactions
- Geographic Expertise: Deep understanding of business cultures and practices in target markets
- Immediate Pipeline Potential: Must be able to identify at least 10-15 qualified prospects from existing relationships within first 30 days. Also should be able to arrange meetings/calls with key contacts
Professional Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong negotiation and closing abilities
- Strategic thinking and market analysis capabilities
- Proficiency in CRM systems and sales tools
- Ability to travel internationally (20-30% travel expected)
Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
- MBA preferred but not mandatory with relevant experience
- Six Sigma or Lean certification is a plus not mandatory
Compensation Structure
Phase 1: Performance-Based (First 6 Months)
- Revenue Sharing: 6-10% of net revenue from new contracts secured
- Bonus Incentives: Additional bonuses for exceeding quarterly targets
- Benefits: Health insurance, travel allowances, and communication expenses covered
Phase 2: Fixed CTC + Incentives (After 6 Months)
- Fixed CTC: INR 25-40 LPA based on performance during initial period
- Variable Component: 20-30% of fixed CTC based on annual targets
- Long-term Incentives: Stock options or profit-sharing opportunities
