Job Description

The GM - Finance will lead the financial strategy, planning, and management of a reputed Group of companies in UAE. This role oversees finance, accounting, budgeting, treasury, risk management, compliance, inventory control, and financial operations across all business units in the UAE and GCC. The GM - Finance will act as a strategic partner to the Board and senior management to drive profitability, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.


Key Responsibilities


1. Financial Strategy & Planning

• Develop and execute long-term financial strategies aligned with overall business goals.

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across all divisions.

• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to the CEO/Board for strategic decision making.


2. Financial Operations & Management

• Oversee all accounting and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with IFRS and UAE regulations.

• Manage cash flow, liquidity, working capital, and treasury functions.

• Drive cost optimization initiatives and financial process improvements.

• Lead group financial consolidation and monthly/quarterly performance review cycles.


3. Inventory, Stock Handling & Working Capital Control

• Oversee financial controls related to stock handling, inventory valuation, and stock reconciliations across all entities.

• Ensure accurate recording of stock movements, shrinkage management, and alignment between finance, warehouse, and operations.

• Strengthen inventory forecasting, stock ageing analysis, and stock turnover efficiency.

• Lead stock audits, cycle counts, and process improvements to reduce discrepancies and enhance inventory accuracy.

• Optimize working capital by monitoring inventory levels, procurement cycles, and demand planning.


4. Corporate Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to statutory, regulatory, VAT, and corporate tax requirements.

• Develop and maintain strong internal controls across financial and operational processes.

• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

• Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.


5. Strategic Business Support

• Partner with business heads to analyze performance and improve profitability.

• Evaluate investment opportunities, new ventures, and expansion projects.

• Lead feasibility studies, financial modelling, sensitivity analysis, and ROI assessments.


6. Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop finance teams across all business units.

• Build high-performing teams and strengthen departmental capabilities.

• Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
