Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Full Stack Engineer located in Pune. The Full Stack Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of web feature development — from designing APIs to shipping sleek frontends — while mentoring and coordinating with the mobile app developer to ensure feature parity, shared component logic, and unified releases across platforms. Current team includes lead manager, front end developer, UI/UX Designer. Daily tasks include collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, implementing new features, troubleshooting and resolving bugs, and optimizing application performance. The role involves working closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions. Knowledge for server hosting on AWS is a must.

You’ll work closely with the Assistant CTO, product managers, designers, and data engineers to deliver highly reliable, performant, and scalable modules.

Roles & Responsibilities

Backend Development (Node.js / Express / MySQL / AWS)

• Build and maintain 

  RESTful APIs and microservices

   powering ULIO’s student and counselor dashboards.
• Design 

  efficient database schemas

   and optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability.
• Integrate 

  AI APIs

   (OpenAI, Gemini, or in-house services) to power smart recommendations and chat features.
• Implement 

  RBAC, authentication, and secure API access

   across environments.
• Manage 

  AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront)

   and participate in automated CI/CD deployments.

Frontend Development (React / Next.js / Tailwind / Context API)

• Develop 

  responsive, modular React components

   aligned with ULIO’s design system.
• Integrate complex API flows (Test Prep, Planner, Community, CommonApp) with optimized state handling.
• Ensure high UI/UX quality, accessibility, and fast load times.
• Collaborate with the design team for continuous UI polish and A/B testing.

Mobile Coordination & Mentorship

• Manage and collaborate with the mobile developer (Flutter/React Native)

   to maintain feature alignment between the web and mobile versions of ULIO.
• Review shared APIs, components, and ensure 

  consistent design logic and data structures

   across platforms.
• Participate in 

  sprint planning and retrospectives

  , aligning web–mobile release timelines.
• Provide 

  technical guidance and code review

   support for mobile-related integrations.

DevOps & Quality

• Contribute to 

  code reviews, QA cycles, and automated test coverage

  .
• Ensure zero major regressions across dev/test/prod environments.
• Support 

  error monitoring (Sentry/New Relic)

   and performance tuning.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of full stack experience in a production SaaS environment.
• Strong in 

  Node.js, Express, MySQL

  , and 

  React

  .
• Experience managing 

  REST APIs

   and integrating with mobile or cross-platform teams.
• Exposure to 

  AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines

  , and agile workflows.
• Familiarity with 

  Flutter or React Native coordination

   preferred.
• Bonus: Exposure to 

  AI tools, real-time frameworks (Socket.io/Ably)

  , or 

  Python microservices

• Software Development expertise: Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices
• Cascading Style Sheets (CSS): Proficiency in creating visually appealing and responsive web designs
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus
