About the role: Join BioSky as a founding Machine‑Learning Engineer focused on Earth‑observation imagery. You will build and deploy computer‑vision and neural‑network models that convert multi‑sensor satellite data into actionable insights. The role offers a stipend and equity, with significant scope to shape both the technology and the company’s growth. We are looking for Machine-Learning Scientists with 2-3 years of hands-on experience who are eager to learn, adapt, and grow rapidly in a high-velocity startup environment. You should be driven by curiosity, thrive on solving open-ended problems, and be ready to take ownership of end-to-end systems. This role is ideal for someone who learns fast, enjoys experimentation, and wants to work on cutting-edge AI applications in spacetech. About the role: As a Founding Full-Stack Engineer at BioSky, you will build the core data and intelligence platform behind the BioSky Energy Stack the unified backend that powers real-time insights across generation, transmission, and distribution energy systems. Your primary focus will be on backend architecture, large-scale satellite imagery ingestion, geospatial processing, and real-time data pipelines , while also contributing to frontend integration and product delivery. You will work in a founder-led, fast-moving environment , taking features from concept to production and directly impacting customers across India and global markets. Your Responsibilities Design and build scalable, API-driven backend systems using Python / Node.js for ingesting and serving large satellite imagery, weather data, and time-series datasets. Implement high-throughput data pipelines for EO data (GeoTIFF, NetCDF, HDF, Zarr), including ingestion, validation, preprocessing, tiling, and metadata indexing. Architect efficient database schemas using PostgreSQL + PostGIS , optimized for large spatial queries, temporal joins, and analytics workloads. Design microservices-based architectures , containerized using Docker , and deployed on AWS/GCP . Own features end-to-end : system design ? backend implementation ? testing ? deployment ? monitoring-> frontend development. Influence core product architecture and long-term technical decisions as an early engineering leader. Experience and must have skill sets: 3-4+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying production backend or full-stack systems. Proficiency in React.js/Next.js, Node.js, Python , and API-first development. Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases; familiarity with PostGIS is a plus. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), including object storage, compute, and managed services. Experience handling large files, streaming data, or high-volume pipelines (satellite imagery, video, logs, or similar). Working knowledge of frontend systems (React/Next.js) to support API design and end-to-end product delivery.
