Job Purpose

This strategic finance leadership role is responsible for overseeing the financial management of the Asia business vertical, encompassing operations in India, Bangladesh, and Singapore. The Finance Controller will lead a regional finance team and play a pivotal role in driving financial planning and budgeting, management reporting, treasury, cost control, and internal financial governance.

With operations spanning multiple geographies and sectors—including commercial and agricultural commodity processing—the role demands close partnership with regional business teams to provide actionable financial insights, support strategic initiatives, and lead transformation projects such as systems implementations and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Budgeting

• Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting cycles across the Asia region
• Monitor and analyze budget variances, ensuring proactive corrective action through collaboration with regional stakeholders
• Deliver financial insights that support strategic planning and profitable growth

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Oversee accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards
• Deliver high-quality financial analysis to guide commercial and operational decisions
• Lead financial consolidation and regional reporting, ensuring alignment with business vertical standards

Treasury & Working Capital Management

• Manage cash flow, working capital optimization, and funding strategies across the region
• Collaborate with global and regional teams to handle banking relationships and financing structures
• Oversee currency risk management and ensure adherence to treasury policies and best practices

Financial Operations & Internal Controls

• Implement and maintain strong internal control systems aligned with corporate governance and regulatory requirements
• Manage internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency
• Work cross-functionally to identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks

Team Leadership & Development

• Build and lead a high-performing regional finance team
• Partner with HR to define optimal organizational structure, support upskilling, and foster succession planning
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Candidate Profile

• Chartered Accountant with at least 12 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles within manufacturing and/or international operations in the APAC region
• Experience in agriculture or commodity trading industries is a plus
• Proven expertise in treasury management across India and other Asian markets; familiarity with audits and taxation is advantageous
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP / Hyperion; advanced Excel skills for offline analytics and reporting
• Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to provide strategic financial guidance in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a focus on building lean, effective teams and developing future finance leaders
