Role Overview
The Finance Controller will lead and manage all financial operations, support strategic decision-making, and ensure financial compliance and reporting excellence for the organization. This role requires deep expertise in finance, accounting, team leadership, regulatory compliance, and process enhancement
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Compliance
- Lead monthly/quarterly/annual closings, MIS, and financial reporting for the hospital unit.
- Ensure full compliance with GST, TDS, statutory/internal/forensic audits, and other healthcare financial regulations.
- Manage hospital cash flow, fund allocation, receivables/payables, cost control, treasury operations, and capital assets.
- Oversee payroll and statutory compliance for medical, non-medical, and contractual staff.
Planning, Analysis & Strategic Support
- Drive hospital budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with actionable insights for unit leadership.
- Provide financial analyses and recommendations to management for expansion, service mix optimization, and operational decisions.
- Support pricing strategies for new services/surgeries and evaluate ROI on marketing, doctor engagement, and patient acquisition initiatives.
Billing, Pricing & Payor Management
- Oversee hospital billing systems, pricing models, and discount structures to ensure transparency and efficiency.
- Lead negotiations with insurers, TPAs, corporates, and financing partners (EMI, cashless) to optimize collections, margins, and turnaround time.
Leadership, Processes & Controls
- Build and mentor the finance team for performance, accuracy, and professional growth.
- Strengthen internal controls, implement ERP/SAP upgrades, and streamline hospital finance processes for efficiency.
- Coordinate statutory and internal audits; support DRHP/IPO documentation if required
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is required.
- Minimum 7-12 years of experience in finance, accounting, audit, budgeting, team management, and statutory compliance.
- Proven leadership in cross-functional teams, with strong communication and analytical skills.
- Mastery of accounting ERPs (SAP, Oracle, Tally, etc.), advanced Microsoft Excel, and financial analysis tools.
- Strong exposure to working with large, diverse organizations or groups (healthcare, manufacturing, tech, retail).
- Ability to drive change, implement new systems and processes, and support strategic initiatives such as IPO readiness or mergers/acquisitions.
- Experience in handling complex tax matters, transfer pricing, and commercial decision support.
