Key Responsibilities of the COO

 

1. Strengthen Operations and Compliance

  • Oversee day-to-day operations — client onboarding, transactions, reporting, and settlements. 
  • Ensure strict compliance with all SEBI, RBI, and other regulatory norms. 
  • Develop and enforce robust SOPs and risk controls. 

 

2. People and Culture

  • Build a strong, collaborative team culture that stays true to the firm’s client-first philosophy. 
  • Lead HR practices — recruitment, training, appraisals — ensuring fair, transparent systems. 
  • Mentor and upskill functional heads and teams for self-management. 

 

3. Client Experience

  • Improve processes to deliver smooth, timely, and transparent client service. 
  • Implement feedback loops to address client concerns promptly. 
  • Be the operational anchor so that portfolio managers and research teams focus on performance. 

 

4. Technology and Efficiency

  • Evaluate and upgrade operational systems — PMS software, cybersecurity, automation. 
  • Ensure data integrity, privacy, and business continuity. 
  • Drive initiatives that improve turnaround time and cost efficiency. 

 

5. Reporting and Governance

  • Maintain clear MIS, dashboards, and internal audits. 
  • Report key operational risks and updates to the MD and Board. 
  • Act as a bridge between management, teams, regulators, and stakeholders. 

 

Candidate Profile:

 

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.  
  • Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles. 
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity. 
  • Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues.
