Buyer – Electronic Components (Import & Domestic Procurement)

Department: Procurement

Location: Innotronix Labs and Trading Pvt. Ltd., Gat No. 77 & 81, Mumbai–Bangalore Highway, Sasewadi, Pune – 412205

Reporting To: Procurement Head

Job Purpose

To manage end-to-end procurement of electronic components from domestic and international suppliers, ensuring cost competitiveness, quality compliance, on-time delivery, and uninterrupted material availability to support production and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Sourcing

  • Manage import and domestic purchasing of electronic components including Active Components (MOSFETs, Diodes, ICs, Transistors), Passive Components (Capacitors, Resistors, Inductors), and Magnetics & Assemblies (Transformers, Bare PCBs, Assembled PCBs).
  • Create and release purchase orders, track order status, and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Production, and Engineering teams for BOM-based procurement.

2. Supplier Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard approved domestic and overseas suppliers.
  • Maintain relationships with manufacturers, authorized distributors, and EMS partners.
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations on cost, quality, delivery, and service.
  • Ensure sourcing from authorized and compliant suppliers.

3. Cost Control & Negotiation

  • Negotiate pricing, MOQ, lead time, payment terms, and Incoterms.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through alternate sourcing, localization, and volume leverage.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing movements for key electronic components.

4. Import Procurement & Compliance

  • Manage HS code classification, CHA coordination, and import documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Customs, DGFT, BIS, and internal policies.
  • Monitor duties, exchange rates, freight, and landed cost impact.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with Engineering for part approvals.
  • Coordinate with Quality for supplier audits, FAIs, and quality issues.
  • Align with Finance on costing, payments, and budget adherence.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Cost savings achieved vs. target
  • On-time delivery performance
  • Supplier lead-time adherence
  • Import clearance cycle time
  • Quality issues and rejections

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Commerce
  • 3–6 years of procurement experience in electronics manufacturing
  • Hands-on experience sourcing active and passive electronic components
  • Experience in import procurement and customs processes preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong negotiation, commercial, and cost analysis skills
  • Working knowledge of BOM and ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
  • Understanding of Incoterms, import documentation, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Effective communication and supplier relationship management skills

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to EMS / OEM manufacturing environments
  • Sourcing experience from China, Taiwan.
  • Knowledge of alternate part qualification and component lifecycle management
