About the job


As a Business Development Specialist at Burkan Engineering, you will drive business growth by combining technical expertise with sales acumen. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, present solutions, and support the implementation of Burkan's products and services. This entry-level to early-career position is ideal for candidates who are passionate about technology and eager to embark on a technical sales career in the AEC(Architecture Engineering Construction) industry.

Key Responsibilities


·      Collaborate with the sales team to deliver technical solutions that address client requirements.

·      Support the Business Development and Operations team with a general understanding of current pipeline and help the team move proposals through the pipeline by closing orders.

·      Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of Burkan’s fire & life safety products/services, communicating their unique value to customers.

·      Engage with prospective and existing clients to identify needs, craft proposals, and give technical presentations/demonstrations.

·      Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations and technical documents.

·      Support the entire sales cycle from lead qualification to closing, ensuring technical requirements are met at each stage.

·      Stay updated on fire and life safety industry trends, competitor offerings and market developments to maintain a competitive edge.

·      Proactive planning and support around support annual growth initiatives.

·      Self-starter who works well independently and is self-motivated, with bias for action

Client Engagement & Delivery Handoff


·      Build trust and long-term relationships with clients by providing expert guidance, addressing technical concerns, and ensuring a smooth transition from sales to implementation teams.

·      Collect and communicate client feedback to product and engineering teams to support product enhancement.

·      Offer post-sales support, including troubleshooting and client training sessions, to ensure high customer satisfaction.


Required Skills & Qualifications


·      Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.

·      0–3+ years of relevant experience (freshers welcome).

·      Previous experience in fire engineering solutions or a related industry is beneficial

·      Strong technical knowledge of fire and life safety products or solutions, with the ability to learn quickly.

·      Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.

·      Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.

·      Ability to work collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team.

·      Willingness to travel as required for client visits or industry events.


Preferred (Good To Have) Skills


·      Experience working with CRM and sales management tools.

·      Prior internship or project experience in technical sales or customer-facing engineering roles.

·      Technical writing and documentation skills.

·      Multilingual proficiency or exposure to diverse customer bases.

·      Familiarity with negotiation and consultative sales techniques


Experience

0–3+ years in business development, sales engineering, technical support, presales, or relevant technical roles.
