Job Description

Key Responsibilities


* Market Research & Opportunity Identification: Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and potential new market segments or clients (e.g., schools, universities, corporate L&D departments).

* Lead Generation & Client Acquisition: Generate and qualify leads through networking, cold calling, email campaigns, and industry events.

* Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and educational stakeholders (e.g., principals, deans, HR managers).

* Sales & Negotiation: Create compelling proposals, deliver product presentations and demonstrations, negotiate contracts, and close sales deals to meet or exceed targets.

* Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement innovative business development and sales strategies to expand the customer base and increase revenue.

* Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to align strategies and ensure seamless customer experience and product delivery.

* Performance Tracking: Track and analyze key performance metrics (KPIs), such as lead conversion rates and revenue growth, using CRM software, and provide regular reports to senior management.


Required Qualifications and Skills


* Experience: Typically 5+ years of experience in business development or sales, with a strong preference for experience within the Ed tech or education industry.

* Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Education, or a related field is common, with an MBA or Master's degree sometimes preferred.

* Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation abilities.

* Business Acumen: Strong business instincts and analytical skills to understand market dynamics, identify opportunities, and articulate value propositions.

* Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and a data-driven approach to decision-making.

* Attributes: Proactive, goal-oriented, highly organized, adaptable, and a collaborative team player with an entrepreneurial mindset.

* Mobility: Willingness to travel to client sites and industry events as needed.
