Job Description

Position Overview:

The Business Development Manager – Mac will be responsible for expanding and managing Apple Mac product sales in the Kerala region, with a primary base in Kochi.
The role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing existing dealer and corporate relationships, driving sell-in and sellout performance, and ensuring the growth of Apple Mac category through strategic partnerships and channel development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Expansion & Channel Development

  • Identify, onboard, and nurture new B2B and retail partners for Apple Mac products.
  • Develop strong business relationships with corporate clients, system integrators, and premium resellers.
  • Drive sales growth and market penetration for Apple Mac across assigned territories.
  • Execute Apple’s business and marketing strategies to increase visibility and sales in target segments.
  • Collaborate with dealers and resellers to ensure adequate stock, display, and product availability.

2. Sell-In & Sellout Management

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sell-in and sellout targets for Mac products.
  • Monitor inventory levels, forecasting, and product movement to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Drive sellout activities, campaigns, and promotions in coordination with the marketing team.
  • Work closely with store teams and promoters to enhance in-store customer engagement and conversion.

3. Relationship & Territory Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key Apple partners, corporate clients, and institutional buyers.
  • Visit channel partners regularly to understand their business challenges and provide strategic support.
  • Represent Alps Distributors and the Apple brand professionally in all business interactions.
  • Act as a link between Apple, and partner stores to ensure seamless business operations.

4. Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Analyze market trends, competition, and customer behavior related to Mac and computing devices.
  • Identify new verticals and emerging opportunities for Mac adoption (education, corporate, creative industries).
  • Provide regular reports and insights to management on sales performance, pipeline, and market potential.
  • Suggest and execute local marketing activities to boost awareness and demand generation.

5. Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with Apple India business teams for product launches, pricing updates, and strategic planning.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly business review reports covering performance and action plans.
  • Work closely with internal teams including logistics, finance, and marketing to ensure operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of Apple ecosystem and Mac product range.
  • Proven experience in B2B sales, channel management, or IT product distribution.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to plan, forecast, and execute sales strategies.
  • Strong presentation skills and proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel across Kerala as per business needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, IT, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 4–6 years of experience in business development or key account management, preferably with Apple or premium computing brands (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.).
  • Candidates with Apple ecosystem experience (especially Mac) will be given priority.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Achievement of sales and revenue targets for Mac category.
  • Dealer and corporate network expansion.
  • Sellout growth across assigned territories.
  • Improvement in brand visibility and market share of Mac products.
