Job Description

Job Title: Area Training Manager (ATM) Department: Sales Training & Capability Development Preferred Industry Background: BFSI, FMCG, Pharma, Telecom Role Purpose: The Area Training Manager (ATM) is responsible for driving training interventions and improving the productivity of newly hired sales/non-sales NFTEs (New Frontline Territory Executives) within the allocated territory. The role involves managing a team of trainers, ensuring delivery of onboarding programs, compliance trainings, refresher modules, and evaluating post-training effectiveness to uplift individual and team performance. Key Responsibilities: Training Delivery & Execution: Manage training initiatives for ~800 NFTEs through a team of 7–9 trainers. Ensure 100% execution of NHO (New Hire Orientation), mandatory trainings, DIP trainings, refreshers, and compliance trainings as per SOPs. Execute training plans using a blended learning model (classroom and mGurukul platform). Productivity Enablement: Drive sales productivity of new NFTEs (M1–M3 vintage) through targeted training and OJT (On-the-Job Training). Identify productivity gaps via data analysis and plan appropriate training interventions. Regularly evaluate training effectiveness using methods like mystery shopping and productivity reviews. Team & Stakeholder Management: Oversee lifecycle of trainers – hiring, development, performance reviews, and engagement. Work closely with RSMs, ZSMs, and Circle Heads to understand local business challenges and design customized training solutions. Travel across the region to ensure training alignment with ground-level sales objectives. Operations & Reporting: Drive seamless execution of NHO batches—trainer assignment, content delivery, attendance, feedback, certification, and handover to sales. Maintain training records including attendance, feedback, and certification documentation for audit purposes. Prepare and share training dashboards and RAG (Red-Amber-Green) reports with stakeholders. Track trainer performance metrics like coverage, feedback scores, certification rates, and OJT impact. Innovation & Capability Building: Develop new training modules and optimize existing programs to enhance efficiency. Conduct monthly trainer audits and organize development workshops (e.g., TTT, refreshers, soft skills). Ensure trainer certification and capability-building initiatives are effectively executed. Measures of Success: Improved productivity of new and low-performing BREs. Retention and capability development of trainers. High training coverage and certification rates (minimum 95%). Timely publishing of dashboards and actionable MIS. High internal assessment and certification scores across ATM and trainers. Technical Skills & Experience:5+ years of experience in sales training and team management, preferably in high-growth sectors. Proven track record in designing and implementing performance-focused training initiatives. Experience in classroom facilitation, coaching, LMS tools, and workshop delivery. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and analytical reporting skills. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with advanced MIS and data management abilities.
