Job Summary
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing sales operations, managing distribution networks, and achieving revenue targets in North Kerala. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep insights into the local market dynamics, particularly in the tea and FMCG sectors. The ideal candidate will lead a team of sales representatives, build strong relationships with distributors and retailers, and ensure consistent growth in market share.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets for Boche Tea products in Kozhikode, Kannur, Malappuram, Wayanad, and Kasaragod.
- Manage and expand the distribution chain, including identifying new distributors, wholesalers, and retail outlets while optimizing existing partnerships.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and opportunities for product placement and promotions.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales executives, providing training and performance evaluations to enhance productivity.
- Monitor inventory levels, ensure timely supply chain operations, and resolve any distribution-related issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including retailers, distributors, and institutional clients.
- Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and budgets; analyze data to recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, FMCG regulations, and ethical sales practices.
- Organize promotional activities, trade shows, and sampling events to boost brand visibility.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align sales efforts with overall business goals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- At least 8-10 years of managerial experience in sales, with a proven track record of leading teams and driving revenue growth.
- Must have extensive experience in the FMCG sector, with a strong preference for candidates from the tea industry or related beverage segments.
- Solid knowledge of the North Kerala market, including consumer preferences, competitive landscape, and distribution chains in Kozhikode, Kannur, Malappuram, Wayanad, and Kasaragod.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large territories and achieve sales targets in a competitive environment.

- Proficiency in market analysis, sales forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with sales software, CRM tools, and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently, handle pressure, and adapt to changing market conditions.
- Fluency in Malayalam and English; knowledge of Hindi is an advantage.
