We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Executive based in India to support U.S. clients with daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, experience in cost accounting, and hands-on expertise with QuickBooks and other Intuit accounting applications. This role involves working closely with U.S.-based management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely month-end closes, and efficient accounting workflows.
- Perform routine accounting tasks including journal entries, accruals, and ledger maintenance in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Assist with monthly/quarterly/year-end close processes and prepare supporting schedules.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, bank statements, intercompany balances, and subsidiary ledgers.
- Prepare draft financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Assist with inventory costing, COGS calculation, and valuation under U.S. accounting standards.
- Support job costing, standard costing, and analysis of production or service delivery costs.
- Work with client-side operations teams to review BOMs, inventory adjustments, and stock movements.
- Prepare cost variance analysis and help identify areas for cost optimization.
- Process vendor invoices, review supporting documents, and prepare payment batches.
- Manage customer invoicing, record receipts, and follow up on outstanding AR.
- Perform aging analysis and prepare weekly/monthly AP/AR reports.
- Reconcile AR/AP ledgers with the general ledger.
- Manage daily transactions using QuickBooks Desktop/Online, including integrations with third-party apps.
- Utilize other Intuit ecosystem tools, such as QuickBooks Time, Lacerte, or ProSeries.
- Support data migration, cleanup projects, or system configuration for U.S. clients.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation according to U.S. audit and compliance standards.
- Assist with preparation of tax schedules, audit requests, and regulatory documents as required by U.S. CPAs.
- Ensure strong internal controls and adherence to client accounting policies.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com, M.Com, MBA Finance, CA-Inter preferred).
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Experience working in a BPO/KPO environment or with U.S. clients is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop).
- Good grasp of cost accounting and inventory processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
- Ability to work in U.S. time zones (full or partial overlap).
- Experience with manufacturing or job-costing environments.
- Familiarity with additional accounting software such as Xero, NetSuite, SAP, or Intuit products.
- Understanding of U.S. sales tax, payroll, or 1099 compliance is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and work independently.
