Job Summary:

The Head of Accounts is responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial activities of the company, ensuring regulatory compliance, timely reporting, cost optimisation, and financial health. The role includes leading the accounting team, managing audits, and providing strategic financial insights to support management decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting & Compliance

Ensure timely and accurate preparation of:

• Monthly and annual financial statements
• MIS reports, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow

Ensure compliance with:

• GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act
• Export-import regulations (for SEZ, MEIS, etc.)
• Bank covenants and loan reporting

2. Bookkeeping & Internal Controls

• Supervise day-to-day accounting entries (Tally, ERP, etc.)
• Implement and monitor strong internal control systems
• Ensure timely vendor payments and receivables reconciliation
• Manage inventory accounting and costing accuracy

3. Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead a team of accountants, junior staff, and external consultants
• Coordinate with production, sales, HR, and purchase departments for financial alignment
• Set KPIs and review performance of the accounts team

4. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist management in annual budgeting and monthly forecasts
• Track actuals vs budget and analyze variances
• Monitor fund flow and working capital

5. Audit & Statutory Affairs

• Liaison with internal and statutory auditors
• Ensure timely filing of returns and audit completion
• Maintain all statutory records and liaise with government authorities

Qualifications & Skills:

• CA, CMA, or M.Com/MBA in Finance (CA Preferred)
• 10+ years of experience in accounts and finance (Manufacturing industry preferred)
• Strong knowledge of:
• Tally Prime / Microsoft ERP systems
• Indian accounting standards
• GST, TDS, and other tax laws
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
• Experience in export-import documentation is a plus
