Job Description: Academic Head (Grades 3–8)
Location: Delhi Road, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh

Role Objective
The Academic Head (Grades 3–8) will provide academic leadership, instructional support, and operational oversight for the primary and middle sections. The role ensures high-quality teaching, student engagement, curriculum delivery, and coordination among teachers, while supporting the school’s broader academic vision and NEP 2020 goals.
Key Responsibilities
A. Academic Leadership
Plan, implement, and review the curriculum for Grades 3–8 in alignment with CBSE guidelines and school philosophy.
Drive lesson planning, differentiated instruction, and learning outcome tracking across subjects.
Lead teacher mentoring, peer observations, and professional development initiatives.
Ensure effective assessment design - formative and summative - and guide teachers in analysis for remedial or enrichment actions.
Oversee academic data (exam results, attendance, progress reports) and generate insights for improvement.
Facilitate integration of 21st-century skills and technology-enabled learning in classrooms.
Maintain strong focus on literacy and numeracy, ensuring seamless academic progression from Grades 3–8.
Conduct periodic academic audits, class observations, and ensure adherence to school academic standards.
B. Administrative and Operational Management
Prepare academic calendar, timetables, and ensure coordination between subjects and grades.
Liaise with the Principal, section coordinators, and subject heads for smooth academic operations.
Oversee teacher workload allocation, substitution management, and resource planning.
Ensure all lesson plans, student records, assessment data, and report cards are maintained accurately and on schedule.
Coordinate with admin, IT, and procurement for teaching aids, digital resources, and infrastructure needs.
Support the recruitment, induction, and appraisal of teachers in Grades 3–8.
Plan and conduct PTMs, student orientation, and academic events (quizzes, exhibitions, Olympiads, etc.).
Participate in budget planning for the academic section and track resource utilisation.
C. Strategic and Developmental Functions
Lead the implementation of NEP 2020 guidelines and CBSE innovations (experiential learning, competency-based assessment, art integration, etc.).
Build a collaborative academic culture, promoting teacher autonomy with accountability.
Initiate and monitor enrichment programmes, remedial sessions, and student mentoring structures.
Partner with the Principal in policy formulation, curriculum review, and school improvement plans.
Ensure cross-section alignment between Grades 3–8 and Grades 9–12 for academic continuity.
Build parent engagement initiatives — workshops, open houses, newsletters, academic updates.
Maintain a student-centric environment promoting emotional wellbeing, discipline, and holistic development.
Represent the section in external academic inspections, workshops, or CBSE audits.
Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree in education or a relevant subject area with B.Ed. / M.Ed. mandatory.
Minimum 8–12 years of teaching experience, with 3–5 years in an academic leadership or coordination role.
Deep understanding of CBSE curriculum, NEP 2020 implementation, and effective pedagogical strategies.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and analytical skills.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational abilities.
Proficiency in data-driven academic management and digital teaching tools.
