Role Overview

UI/UX Designer

Working alongside developers, product managers, and field teams, you will craft user experiences that bring clarity to real-time fleet data, asset health insights, and mining performance metrics across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms. Your work will impact field operators, control room supervisors, and decision-makers who rely on our platforms to run efficient, safe, and productive mine sites. 

You’ll be based out of our modern facility in Hitec City, Hyderabad, with opportunities to collaborate closely with our international product teams. 

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain cohesive UI/UX systems for web-based applications, dashboards, and internal tools used in mining operations. 
• Create and manage brand-aligned templates, design components, and reusable UI assets in Figma, Adobe XD, or similar tools. 
• Design intuitive dashboards and data visualization interfaces for complex real-time mining data (fleet movement, productivity metrics, payload tracking, etc.). 
• Develop custom SVG icons and illustrations tailored to specific application or feature requirements. 
• Conduct user research and translate findings into wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs. 
• Work closely with product managers, developers, and QA teams to ensure design intent is maintained during development. 
• Contribute to the evolution of HME’s design language, improving consistency across all user interfaces. 
• Identify and solve usability issues with a data-driven and user-first mindset. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define interaction models, user flows, and UI specifications across both SaaS platforms (FMS-Live and Asset IQ). 
• Conduct heuristic evaluations and competitor analysis to support UX design recommendations. 
• Support the ongoing refinement of the design system used across HME’s platforms, incorporating reusable components and responsive behaviour. 
• Participate in sprint planning and design reviews, advocating for UI/UX excellence and accessibility best practices. 
• Contribute to internal documentation and design QA processes to ensure implementation matches design intent across releases. 

Required Experience & Skills

• 5-7 years of experience as a UI/UX Designer, preferably in a SaaS or product-based environment. 
• Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design work across dashboards, web applications, and visual systems. 
• Proven experience creating clean, scalable UI systems and branding assets. 
• Expertise in Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools. 
• Ability to create custom SVGs, icons, and vector graphics as per project needs. 
• Strong knowledge of responsive design and user-centered design principles. 
• Experience working with design systems and component libraries. 
• Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills. 
• Ability to balance creativity with technical constraints and business requirements. 
• Demonstrated experience designing enterprise-grade dashboards or telemetry platforms. 
• Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and inclusive design principles. 
• Experience in B2B product environments with high data density and technical users. 
• Comfort working in Jira or Azure DevOps to manage design-related tasks or user stories. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Communication, HCI, or a related field. 
• Familiarity with design for industrial or technical domains such as mining, logistics, manufacturing, or GIS. 
• Basic understanding of frontend technologies (HTML/CSS/React) to effectively communicate with development teams. 
• Experience in mining, GIS, logistics, or field service domains. 
• Familiarity with designing software for hardware-integrated systems, IoT platforms, or Industrial telemetry systems. 
• UI/UX certification from a recognised body (e.g., Nielsen Norman Group, Interaction Design Foundation) is advantageous.
