Key responsibilities:
- Conduct and support daily and pending sanctions and export control screenings of parties, shipments, and commodities, including analysis and documentation of approvals or rejections.
- Engage and assist the Maersk Compliance and stakeholders with daily and pending sanctions, and export controls when applicable, screening of commodities/cargoes to determine whether the commodity is restricted or permitted (e.g. arms, military items, dual use items, and any other restricted commodities as identified by Maersk Compliance).
- Monitor and comply with country specific approval processes for dealing with highly sanctioned countries and high-risk sanctioned countries.
- Manage and execute the documentation process for the screening of parties and commodities/cargoes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of approvals and rejections of parties and commodities/cargoes.
- Support risk assessments, performance tracking, and reporting related to sanctions and export controls.
- Assist in investigations involving potential sanctions or export control concerns, in collaboration with Maersk Compliance.
- Contribute to internal control activities, including spot checks and assessments of the effectiveness of the compliance program.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from Maersk Compliance, providing timely and accurate support.
- Ensure timely documentation and assessment of screening results for both parties, shipments and cargoes.
- Support the development of SOPs and training materials and assist in delivering onsite and virtual training sessions as and if needed.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within trade compliance related functions and/or within ‘Know Your Customer’ due diligence and screening.
- Knowledge of the logistics supply chain, with respect to shipping will be an advantage
- Good knowledge of sanctions & export control regulations (e.g. OFAC, OFSI, EU, UN)
- Strong experience in conducting due diligence and assessments.
- Excellent intercultural, problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal skills in English.
- Experience in implementing internal control frameworks.
- Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Familiar with data visualization tools like Power BI, and collaborative systems including SharePoint and ServiceNow for workflow and documentation management.
- Highly motivated and detail-oriented with great organisational skills.
