Job Description

Job Title: Technical Project Manager

Location: Mumbai

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Delivery & Operational Oversight

  • Lead the technical delivery lifecycle for Program Alps across Mumbai and Manila, with ownership of architecture-aligned execution, design validation, and engineering team coordination.
  • Conduct daily stand-ups to align delivery goals with platform architecture, ensuring backlog items are technically viable and scalable.
  • Proactively manage technical impediments, coordinating with Solution Architects, Platform Owners, and Chapter Leaders to resolve architecture, infra, or integration-related blockers.
  • Drive alignment with deployment patterns, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure standards used across PG.
  • Act as TPM SPOC for incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement planning across BUAP platforms.

2. Technical Governance & Reporting

  • Create and present weekly technical status dashboards covering architecture progress, design reviews, risks, DevOps metrics, and incident trends.
  • Lead and contribute to architecture design reviews, evaluating microservices dependencies, data flow models, and infra configurations.
  • Manage Change Requests and SOW updates that involve architectural changes, integration strategy, or refactoring effort.
  • Ensure delivery is aligned with PG’s reference architectures, security models (IAM, RBAC), data management principles, and regulatory standards.

3. Team & Engineering Management

  • Oversee team onboarding, ensuring proper access to architecture diagrams, knowledge base, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins/GitHub Actions), and data contracts.
  • Guide engineers on design documentation standards, API specifications (Swagger/OpenAPI), logging practices, and usage of platform SDKs.
  • Foster a DevOps and Agile mindset: mentor engineers on code review best practices, CI validation, cloud deployment standards, and post-deployment observability.
  • Promote a strong engineering culture by organizing architecture knowledge sharing sessions, PG-stakeholder walkthroughs, and internal demo days. Note: The Technical Project Manager may also be required to play the role of Scrum master [Conduct sprint planning sessions, run retrospectives, lead grooming sessions and take up Agile ceremonies as required.

4. Strategic Resource & Technical Capacity Planning

  • Maintain a skill matrix aligned with PG’s architecture roadmap – focusing on AWS, Snowflake, Kafka, Java, Python, React, ServiceNow, Collibra, etc.
  • Plan for specialized roles like Solution Architects, Data Engineers, Integration Engineers, and Platform Reliability Engineers, based on ongoing and upcoming epics.
  • Align with Straive’s Technical Excellence Group to provision SMEs for architecture validation, PoC ownership, and strategic delivery initiatives.

5. Stakeholder Communication & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as a bridge between PG’s Enterprise Architects, Platform Engineering leads, and Straive delivery teams, translating strategic tech priorities into executable backlogs.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across Security, Data Governance, and Infrastructure teams to ensure compliance and platform alignment.
  • Guide staffing discussions with clarity on technical skill gaps, onboarding readiness, and role-to-architecture fitment.

6. Agile & Architecture-Driven Program Management

  • Champion Agile ceremonies with a technical lens – ensuring epics are architecture reviewed, JIRA stories carry relevant design annotations, and definition-of-done includes technical completeness. Own and monitor tech KPIs including velocity, defect leakage, architecture debt, release frequency, and infra usage metrics.
  • Drive adherence to PG’s modular platform strategy, ensuring that all deliverables comply with standards for reusability, containerization, API versioning, and cloud-native deployments.

Preferred Technical Acumen

  • Strong grasp of enterprise architecture principles, system design, and integration patterns
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and infrastructure as code (IaC)
  • Familiarity with data engineering workflows (ETL/ELT, Snowflake, Python, SQL)
  • Ability to interpret and drive decisions from solution architecture diagrams, API specs, and data models
  • Working knowledge of Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence), CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, and microservices monitoring (e.g., Datadog, ELK)
