Description
Position Summary: We are seeking a Systems Administrator with the technical expertise and
experience to manage a diverse IT environment, including local servers, cloud-hosted
applications, firewalls, mobile device management, and more. This role is essential to
maintaining the reliability, performance, and security of our systems across multiple countries
and locations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Device Management:
○ Oversee and manage a mixed-device environment, including Windows and Mac
laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
○ Utilize Samsung Knox and other MDM tools to administer, monitor, and secure
mobile devices across various regions.
2. Network and Security Management:
○ Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network issues across a distributed
environment with Fortinet firewalls and a variety of internet/WiFi routers in
multiple offices.
○ Implement network security protocols and access controls to protect sensitive
data, ensuring compliance with global data protection standards.
○ Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration
testing to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
3. Server, Cloud, and Patch Management:
○ Manage and monitor local servers and cloud-based applications hosted on
platforms like Digital Ocean and Azure.
○ Develop and maintain a patch management strategy for all devices, servers, and
applications to ensure they are updated and secure.
○ Handle backups, disaster recovery planning, and data redundancy measures to
ensure high availability and security of mission-critical applications.
4. Security Monitoring and Incident Response:
○ Implement and maintain security monitoring tools to detect unauthorized access,
malware, or other security incidents.
○ Investigate, respond to, and document any security incidents, coordinating with
relevant teams to resolve vulnerabilities and enhance security protocols.
○ Maintain detailed logs and reports of all security incidents and remediation efforts
for review and continuous improvement.
5. Support and Troubleshooting:
○ Provide remote and onsite support for technical issues faced by employees and
partners across locations.
○ Document and manage incidents, providing clear communication to end-users on
status and resolution timelines.
6. Systems Optimization and Compliance:
○ Regularly assess and optimize system performance, including resource
utilization, network traffic, and data storage.
○ Ensure all systems and practices comply with organizational policies, regional
data protection laws, and best practices in cybersecurity.
7. IT Policy Development and Enforcement:
○ Work with leadership to establish and enforce IT policies for security, data
protection, network access, and device usage.
○ Conduct regular training sessions for employees on security best practices and
compliance requirements to foster a culture of security awareness.
Qualifications:
● Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator,
or a similar role, preferably within a non-profit or global organization.
● Technical Expertise:
○ Proficiency in managing Windows and Mac environments.
○ Strong experience with Fortinet firewalls, internet routers, network security, and
access control.
○ Familiarity with cloud platforms like Digital Ocean and Azure.
○ Hands-on experience with MDM tools, ideally Samsung Knox, for mobile device
management.
○ Proven experience in patch management, vulnerability assessment, and risk
mitigation.
● Skills: Excellent troubleshooting abilities, proactive problem-solving skills, and the ability
to operate independently in a multi-country setting.
● Soft Skills: Strong communication and documentation skills, with a collaborative attitude
to work with global teams.
