Position Overview The Senior Manager Sustainable Sourcing will lead and drive the strategic execution of sustainability goals by enhancing sustainable sourcing and procurement practices across the supply chain. The role ensures alignment with sustainability targets while creating long-term environmental and social value throughout the sourcing lifecycle. This position focuses on sourcing activities across core businesses and units operating in India and globally. Key Responsibilities Sustainable Sourcing & ESG Leadership Serve as a key member of the Raw Material Sourcing function, supporting functional and business leadership in developing and executing business plans. Spearhead sustainability initiatives within the procurement function, integrating business practices with sustainability objectives. Collaborate with customers, suppliers, auditing agencies, and internal stakeholders to implement sustainability and responsible sourcing strategies. Supplier Assessment & ESG Risk Management Lead mapping and risk assessment of raw material sourcing across core businesses. Develop and implement a strong supplier assessment framework based on carbon footprint evaluations, life cycle analyses, fair labor practices, and stronger governance standards. Work closely with agricultural operations teams to integrate sustainable practices such as soil health management, water conservation, biodiversity preservation, and sustainable supply chain management. Implement best practices across contract and own farming activities to improve sustainability performance. Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of sustainability initiatives using data analysis, KPIs, and stakeholder feedback, leveraging digitization and monitoring tools. Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory developments in sustainable agriculture and supply chain sustainability, providing strategic guidance to senior management. Farm-Level Certifications & Compliance Lead the implementation and management of farm-level certification programs, ensuring compliance with standards such as FSA and UEBT. Conduct and oversee audits to ensure adherence to sustainability standards, environmental regulations, and organic farming practices. Engage with external stakeholders, including government agencies, certification bodies, suppliers, and industry associations, to advocate for sustainable farming practices and maintain certifications. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Project Execution Oversee the progress and execution of CSR projects across the business. Collaborate with business and functional heads, as well as the CSR Committee, to identify, ideate, and select projects aligned with business and sustainability goals. Lead customer engagement initiatives when they wish to sponsor or co-contribute to CSR projects in collaboration with the company. Monitor and evaluate CSR project execution, ensuring timely reporting of progress, risks, and key performance metrics. Appoint external surveyors and assessors for CSR project monitoring when necessary. Contribute to communication strategies and CSR branding efforts to engage with local communities and project beneficiaries. Required Skills & Qualifications Sustainability & ESG Expertise: Proven experience in sustainability functions, preferably within industries involving agricultural sourcing and backward integration. Knowledge of Sustainability Frameworks: Familiarity with frameworks such as GRI, CDP, and TCFD, as well as circular economy principles and their application to sourcing and supply chain management. Procurement & Supply Chain Management: Experience in vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management with an ESG focus. ESG Risk Mitigation: Expertise in assessing and mitigating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks across the supply chain. Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in using data analytics to drive sourcing decisions and measure sustainability performance. Preferred Qualifications Masters degree or relevant certification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Sustainability, or a related field. Experience in working with agricultural operations teams and sustainable farming initiatives. Strong stakeholder management and project leadership skills. Ability to drive and implement sustainable business practices within a corporate procurement function.
