Vice President - Technical

Role & responsibilities: -

Engineering & Design

• Lead and manage all design and engineering functions for JNPA projects.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams for multi-disciplinary design integration (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.).
• Review and approve design submissions, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Ensure value engineering and innovation in design solutions to optimize costs and timelines.
  

Project Planning & Scheduling

• Lead the Project Management Office (PMO) team, ensuring effective governance, reporting, and execution oversight.
• Develop and implement detailed project execution plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and drive mitigation strategies.
• Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms for project performance tracking.
• Align planning with construction milestones and procurement activities.
  

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Lead the Procurement team, developing procurement strategies, vendor selection processes, and contract negotiations for project materials, services, and works.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, cost efficiency, and timely delivery of critical project packages.
• Manage vendor relationships and drive long-term partnerships for project success.
• Lead and guide the tendering processes for various work packages.
  

Financial / Budgetary Control

• Responsible for developing and monitoring the project budget.
• Deliver annualized project savings through design optimization (value engineering) and procurement efficiency.
  

Stakeholder Coordination

• Liaise with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and government agencies.
• Ensure alignment across functions to achieve project milestones.
• Facilitate effective communication of technical requirements and project updates.
• Provide support to leasing and asset management teams on cost inputs, forecasts, and tenant improvements (TI) budgets and timelines.
• Represent Welspun in client meetings as required.
  

Risk Management & Mitigation

• Identify project risks across engineering, procurement, and planning domains.
• Implement mitigation measures to minimize delays and cost overruns.
  

Leadership & Team Development

• Provide strong leadership to the teams for Design, PMO, and Procurement.
• Demonstrate strong decision-taking capabilities to resolve complex project challenges promptly and effectively.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
  

Reporting & Governance

• Support management in key decision-making with data-driven insights and strategic recommendations.
• Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure transparency in project progress, risks, and cost updates.
